So I've been playing Runescape for about 8 years and have spent hours upon hours training various skills and earning money as we all do in the Runescape community haha. I was honestly hesitant on the new combat style since I got so used to playing it a certain way for so long but change isn't always a bad thing!
I've spent a few hours so far trying to figure out the different styles on different monsters and I've spent quite a bit of time watching players vs. players in the wilderness and I still can't quite understand it. I know it takes time to re-learn everything but it seems like all of the players in the wilderness didn't even know how they got kills, like it was even a shock to the winner after spamming their food. I also recall playing the night before the update (of the update) and I could kill the barrows brothers 7 or 8 times without banking and I've tried it 5 times so far and I couldn't even finish one trip without running out of food. I couldn't even kill half the brothers. I've tried range/melee/mage and none of them work out like they used to.
So far I've been very frustrated with the EOC. I understand Jagex had the best intentions and have put hours/days/months in making Runescape more challenging and better but I thought I'd state my opinion that I don't really enjoy it like I used to. I noticed that the majority of the players that like the EOC have only been playing for a couple years and haven't gotten to see the full progress of the game. I remember when you guys had rad updates like the fight caves, skill capes, hunting etc. etc. but I think you guys should thing about the players that have spent years enjoying the simplicity of this game.
I'm not sure if many people or if Jagex will even read this rambling reply but it was worth a try. I've never posted anything on the forums, I just log on and have a blast...so for me to take the time to write this means it's pretty important to me.
