When will Jagex reward long time members that have had a recurring monthly membership that has gone uninterrupted for several years?

Apparently never. I see all the new pets and cosmetic items bought with cards. Nothing for the auto renewal guy. Now this premium scam that I would have to pay an additional 14.95 over my current yearly rate. Again, nothing to say thank you to the long time members that have been the constant revenue source it takes to keep the company afloat.

Look, I get it, it's only just over a buck a month but I'll pass on it. It's really just the principal of the thing.

@greenscholar

This is most definitely not how runescape "ends" this is a good business strategy that frankly they should have done a long time ago but I'm glad they're at least doing it. If Jagex needs more up front money to help fund things like updates or bot busting, which I can clearly see they are by the drastic reduction in bots in Living Rock Caverns for instance.

Fantastic opportunity, I bought gold and love it!

I purchased the premier package and have to say that im pretty pleased with it,in many ways its great to know that my subscription is paid for way into the future, and to have the items.
however one thing i was a little disappointed with.last year i spent lots of time and effort trying to find the game card to get the flaming head--involving trips furthur afield than the local town trying to find the right shop that actually hadnt closed and had the card-- eventually we were allowed to buy the cards online. i also bought the scarecrow mask card, fortunately not involving as much travelling
However this meant that i was i was somewhat disappointed that jagex wsnt taking it into consideration that i had gone to considerable effort and expense to buy two of the items that were being offered as part of the premier package
i feel that there should have been an alternative such as some solomons runecoins to spend
after all i have paid for 18 months game play and got only the same items as people who paid for twelve months, this doesnt seem fair. it would be fantastic if u could take note and perhaps compensate me a little

As many other longtime loyal members have pointed out, those of us paying the grandfathered $5/month have a hard time forking out an extra $15/year because that is not a discount, that is a 25% increase. Now comes 2013 and so in order to not get automatically downgraded to 2nd class citizen status, we now have to pay more to enjoy the same benefits we had before 2013.

Yes, we understand that the gold package throws in some cosmetic crap and 2000 rune coins but I still haven't used my original 200 because there's nothing that appealing to me in the shop -- seems to mostly cater to the WoW crowd who need their eye candy in order to endure the game's graphics (which are pretty decent already for the most part).

Jagex, if you want to reward us, at least make the gold package the same price as 12 months of membership (if you were truly generous, you would actually give us the 22% discount as well). I don't have a real problem paying for 1 year up front (for at least the *same* price) if I get a few extra goodies thrown into the pot. The goodies would have been more enticing to me if the cosmetics was replaced by the Bloodpouncer pet (or at least an option to choose one or the other).

At least you have updated the faq to let us know that our grandfathered rate would still be offered after premier club membership ends (although I have a feeling something like this will be offered again for 2014).

Hate to see that RuneScape has degenerated into a nickel-and-dime business model (a really good example of this at its worst is War of Legends).

I'm still sitting on the fence on this one and so far, I have not been pushed yet far enough to open the p.c. gate using the required wallet tool.
