I remember when I first became an FMod, back in 2009.
I was advised to steer clear of Rants (the actual words were "
they'll eat you alive
"
.
Luckily I ignored that advice and this quickly became my "home" forum.
Sure, it was a bit unruly at times but there was also a lot of fun to be found here.
It's lovely to see some old names popping up again in here to say goodbye. <3

Someone with more technical know-how than me should copy the look and layout of the forums and make the RuneScape Unofficial Forums (or at least unofficial Rants) when these go offline lol.
Actually, I think some of the OGs did that back in the turbulent era of 2010 or 2011. RealRants I think it was called?

The Rants was much more of a wild west back then, lol! Thanks for being a great Fmod!

I am doing well. It seems you are too.
I remember first posting here as a 13 year old, which admittedly was probably not the best place for a 13 year old lol. But I remember your old posts. Nothing specific, just that I enjoyed your trolling.
LOL! I got my 'Internet' start here on the Rants forum in 2006 at age 12. Been in an argument on the internet almost daily ever since :') Though I haven't used the forums much in recent years it saddens me to see it go.

Original message details are unavailable.
Given the strong preference for other platforms among our players, we've therefore decided to channel more of our staff time and resources into those platforms for improved engagement.
I thought they already did that. J-mods were basically anywhere but here.
Hell, everyone would redirect you to Twitter for support/account issues.
But be sure to follow Jagex on all these platforms:
Reddit, Discord, Twitter/X, Facebook, Twitch, Instagram, LinkedIn, Podbean and probably some more I missed.
Surreal when you decide to randomly check out the hompepage to see what's up and see that announcement.
And the biggest loss of all...
No more bot threads.
Love you all

I hate all of those platforms. I occasionally use FB but that's just to keep in touch with a few IRL friends and work colleagues, but the rest? Not for me.
Love you all
And we love you too, good to see you Bucket.
The ONLY upside to the forums closing is that a lot of "old faces" have popped in to say hi.
Apart from that, the forums closing sucks.

Rooh - I do suggest giving Discord a Try. Not the Official RS3 one, but the forumers one Ythaar has is pleasant so far. Nice crowd / many familiar names there and it's active but not chaotic by any means.
Still not a great medium for the types of long-term conversations which broke a decade here in our homeland...but it's not an awful refuge for now, either. Hope to see you there
