Also the idea that you need to log out of all accounts if you are already using the launcher. That is catching a ton of players.
It's an email issue, I have been trying to draw their attention to it for some time. My preference would definitely be to use the one I have now and that seems to be in the works.
Then my concern is to make sure I get those recovery codes secured during the upgrade process. Gotta check the wind to make sure the lines of communication are reliable, etc.

They could probably put something right at the end of import to do that, a 1 liner in the "Congrats you did it" type of thing. That could be a quick win.

If it helps, those backup codes (when you set up the authenticator app) can be regenerated if you somehow misplace them, as long as you have your authenticator to get in still.

Does that apply to email verification as well, or just the authenticator code generator?
There’s no backup codes for email - the thinking there (I believe) is you’ll always be able to get into the email account, whereas I could get a new phone, trade my old phone in, and potentially have no authenticator.

Oh. So what happens if I don't have access to the email I used to verify my account?

You’re permanently locked out. Same with if you have the authenticator set up, lose it (new phone, factory reset phone, etc.) and misplace your backup codes. You can’t log in if you can’t authenticate with both factors.
It sounds harsh, but other systems out there that have 2FA have operated that way too.

To be fair, the issues of people not getting verification emails is a bit of a fluke (and not something within Jagex's control if its only happening with one email provider, since its likely something that's an issue on the provider's end). That seems to be what a good portion of the complaints are about.

.
do you know which provider it is?
Yahoo/AOL (they were called out in the Support article).
