Original message details are unavailable.

Sometimes things are just sentimental.

Jagex on 2018 has failed to see that. Its detrimental. Draco, Rob just wants to build awareness of their true side.

I doubt that OSRS and RS3 are going to close anytime soon. There's already new players coming in thanks to the Twitch promo and their really, really odd trailer.

Not to mention the massive market of mobile that's soon within their grasp.

YOU

They do have that nextgen mmo project they're working on runescape remastered or whatever. Assuming thats just a save transfer thing would be an upgrade for the future.

They are kinda in that boat now where they have to give up on the java client eventually for NXT client for rs3. Rs3 and Osrs closing would be the end of jagex since runescapes like all they got so there can't really be a slippery slope since thats the end of the line.

I only see this slippery slope emergin if that new mmo is just an rs upgrade that can't port everything and enough stay behind on the old like java client and NXT client and they have to pull the plug on the old one day.

Feel like the true culprit of classic closing was the new mobile stuff and maybe some incompatability issue down the road.

100% support you Rob.

As a RSC Veteran (been playing since early 2003), I also am very upset about the closure as per my other thread "Bring back RuneScape Classic!".

I personally have absolutely no interest in playing OSRS/RS3,and don't have any interest in playing either of those games, and have therefore cancelled my RuneScape membership since the closure of RSC. Jagex will not see another dollar from me.

Definitely is getting into my list of archived threads, knowing them they will just sooner or later kill threads they dislike. This comes from one of the few existing players from 2002.

As an existing pre-2002 player. I can agree that Jagex made the right choice in closing down RSC.

As it would hurt Jagex and us, the players if:
-the game broke and couldn't be fixed.
-security flaws became exploited putting the customers at risk.

Well at the very least you don't seem empathizing with the players if you claim to be pre-2002 player. You mean you buy their reasons and that does not mean that they are objectively right or were the driving motor.

And has Jagex not hurt us by:
- Removing and later on never replacing the places of one or two jmods we had assigned over the RSC project
- Not looking over what we have wanted over the years (just washed their hands plainly going we are going to have it not supported). Put it in context like they would have brought OSRS and just left it unsupported with no direct link on the main site.

The game had been quite steady on people accepting RS not to support it and people had been dealing themselves with bugs (and no I won't accept the crystal chest bug - that also we had dealt on) and some to a degree they could stop bots themselves.

On your other point so there would have been security flaws or concerns, they certainly didn't build overnight. Its like this you get food poisoning and go like I will just go on and see what happens when everyone else tells you to get a pill or go to the doctor. Then one or two months later or whatever amount of time you are gravely hospitalized. Same scenario here there were concerns they neglected and we have to pay over their fault?

I've had friends run 100% good on antivirus, anti-spam and all associated checks yet their account was hacked and later banned even when they had authenticator. Jagex isn't flawless in security.

Back on the topic if said security risks were supposed an issue is not like they couldn't rewrite their terms and conditions, or am I wrong that they haven't done so countless times over the years.
