The very little support we did get happened during reopening periods where the game was advertised; other than that the game was essentially 1,000 free subscription payments every month (aside from minimal server running costs).

They did occasionally update the security, but other than that, there wasn't much reason to close the game. The bugs were always there, we've always put up with them. None of them were big enough for us to expect a closer.

Thats the thing though, you dont work at jagex so you dont know how much it really affected them as a company.

So to them it might've been just a ticking time bomb since its last "update" and it just went off.

Like I said 20 pages ago, this is not opinion. This comes straight from former employees that are personal friends of mine.

But as we cannot verify that claim, we cannot consider it a fact either. We simply see it as a "my uncle works at Nintendo" kind of thing.

This is something that's going to be a back and forth, so I recommend not mentioning something like that as it's going to lead the discussion nowhere, and only encourages posts such as "yes no". Which will eventually mean a locked thread as no one discusses the actual point anymore.

At least there's something we both CAN agree on:

"Jagex has turned into a small business of three brothers, to a large, greedy corporation that will backstab the very community that gave them their riches in order to pinch pennies."

This is an unfortunate reality, especially considering how much investors invest into RuneScape and want that money back ASAP, despite Jagex doing pretty well before they jacked up the price. I disagree with their justification as sources clearly indicates they were well off before increasing the price, with their "record profits".

Yes, true. Which is why I didn't bother bringing that fact up in my original post, as I'm obviously not going to piblically oust a former employee that left on good terms.

I only brought it up when I was accused of lying and making things up.

Anyway, the company's profits are public information. They made and are still making a shit ton of money. As the former employee confirmed, it's just "stockholders trimming the fat" and placing the resources where they are most profitable.

Which would be completely understandable to RSC players, had they not been promised that it wouldn't happen.

As (the trolls have used as a shield earlier in the thread, it is known that they are under no contractual agreement to uphold that promise, but I honestly believed that some morals would shine through, and a compromise would be made.

Yet again, they no longer work at jagex so they also dont know the inner workings of jagex anymore.

You know, generally you become friends with your coworkers. And, generally, you continue to be friends even after you've personally left the company.

But just as before, I'm not going to go back and forth with you.
