It is a bit nonsensical on your part to believe that a comparability analysis would only entail the *end result* that determines what content to compare though.

See, here's the thing: If your premises lead to a non-sequitur (Such as the one you presented), then the conclusion of your argument can be deemed irrelevant by default.

Heck, I could say you even practiced Circular Reasoning as you're basically saying: "Since RSOF and Reddit are publicly viewable, that makes them reliable to compare, and they're reliable to compare because they're publicly viewable"

In all of that, you fail to address the discrepancies have between the two platforms and thus would make any analysis you make regarding these two inherently flawed (making them moot points essentially) until you adjust for said discrepancies.

Actually, no. Why? Because the Burden of Proof is on you as you are making the affirmative claim that the RSOF is, indeed, not dead. It's not up to me to prove you false- it's on you to prove yourself right. I merely just have to put into question the validity of your claims. I don't *need* to prove anything. By me having to try and prove you wrong would actually be a textbook example of the Onus Probandi fallacy.

I cant believe that quibbling about the numbers is very constructive. You could halve the numbers Winds presents without making much difference to the point being made. Isn't it more interesting to ask why Jagex tolerate their 'known to be wrong' user counter? Why there is no gold comment on any of this, despite the numerous threads on the topic?
If you are comparing apples to oranges, it is because only Jagex has access to the oranges and willfully misleads us as to their number.

Yes it is interesting to ask why Jagex tolerates this, but there may be a reason why no one is seeing any gold posted on that topic...

Some conspiracy theorists have suggested that there is internal secret society called the Jagxilluminati who had recruited some new members about four years ago. Those new members got drunk with their new found glory & got rid of anyone who put any time & effort into RSOF because they hated the idea of having to spend time on RSOF. Think about it, when was the last time you heard anything from any of those Jmods that loved communicating with the forum community? I know it was rumored that some of them had 'quit' & the ones that remain are always reported as being just 'too busy' to post on RSOF, so who knows for sure, the conspiracy theorists could be on to something.

Anyway, according to these conspiracy theorists this was about the same time that the RuneScape logo changed from showing the sword on the outside of the wording to having the sword stab right through the heart of the capital letter S, symbolizing killing off the old guard, who they viewed as suckers for wanting to communicate on what they considered an outdated platform. They were, after all, the new guard who could communicate in 140 characters or less & they didn't have to sit at a silly ol' computer to do it.

That was just the beginning according to these conspiracy theorists, the plot thickens believe you me. According to them there has been an on-going plot over the last four years to discredit the value of RSOF in order to field reports to the higher ups that prove that no one uses the forum so it can be abandoned.

This was around the same time that they ushered in the follow me here, follow me there, follow me any where but not on RSOF era. However, according to these conspiracy theorists this was about the same time that the forum was getting a reskin to modernize it to draw more users to RSOF. This put a ding in their plans, but not for long, blind luck was on their side & they took full advantage of it.

According to these conspiracy theorists it wasn't to difficult for them to veto the fixing of the active user counter or the idea to get rid of it altogether when this was discussed during the conclave meeting that took place a few years ago when it was noticed by the community that the active user counter was off kilter. It was a stroke of luck that it got off kilter during the forum reskin since that fit right into their master plan.

These conspiracy theorists also indicated that any unsuspecting Jmod who trys to communicate with the community about the active user counter will find that their posts are only seen on the Jmods computer & not on the forums. This makes the Jmod think that they already communicated about it on forums, which is probably why they ignore all of those other threads.

According to these conspiracy theorists this is why the active user counter was never fixed or gotten rid of & why there has been a doubling down of directing users away from the forums. It is all part of the Jagxilluminati master plan.

Tbh, I don't know if any of this is true or not since it is just a conspiracy theory, but that is what some conspiracy theorists have been saying though.

First off, calling your intellectual opponents "conspiracy theorists" doesn't help your argument any.

Secondly, these people *actually* have a point.

In fact, I would be greatly heartened if I thought the people involved were capable of such.
It is apathy I fear, not a level of agency which years of evidence suggests is absent.
