Given the length of time that occurs between Staff posts on the Forum Moderation Review thread, it is evident that either
a) Staff are not interested in maintaining it, or
b) there are not enough Staff with enough time to maintain it

Given that it is not uncommon for a player to have to wait 4-6 weeks for a response (by which time its relevance and usefulness are minimal), FMR no longer fulfils Jagex's promise to properly oversee its FMod team.

It is therefore unfair and unreasonable to carry on pretending that players have should have any kind of expectation that their concerns will be considered in a timely or efficient manner.

As such, FMR is no longer fit for purpose, and should be removed.

Instead, players should be able to submit support tickets for forum issues, as these have a much better chance of being dealt with within, say, a week. This may, of course, require some additional customer support training, but as they say, you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs - and this will probably be less expensive than investing in extra Staff to look after the forums.

Discuss.

(Note: posts singling out specific staff are not welcome in this thread. This is a systemic issue, not an issue with any particular individual(s).)

I largely agree. Whilst I kinda enjoy reading the JMod responses, thats not what its for. And a few sentences every month or so, I likely wouldnt even notice it had gone.

That said, Mod Kari does seem to be doing a stand-up job. Just not very often.
I totally agree that it would be good if the system was changed.

"It is therefore unfair and unreasonable to carry on pretending that players have should have any kind of expectation that their concerns will be considered in a timely or efficient manner."
This is bang on.
And has the side-effect of making the FMod's common response of "Refer your issue with my moderation to FMR" an insult. Not blaming the FMods for this. Still wildly unfair though.

The alternative of using support centre, as you suggested sounds interesting :)
Looks like it has more potentials to work out in a way that benefits everyone.
Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot !

c) Jagex/JMods are looking for different ways finding a solution for the problems that are on the table.

- 'Given that it is not uncommon for a player to have to wait 4-6 weeks for a response (by which time its relevance and usefulness are minimal), FMR no longer fulfils Jagex's promise to properly oversee its FMod team.' -

I must say then you fail to have read the OP of Forum Moderation Review properly. Jagex/JMods do operate within the outline written in the OP of Forum Moderation Review.

Forum Moderation Review still fits its purpose but a certain amount of players are dissatisfied with its outcome due to not be able to read what Jagex/JMods will do but 'you have to experience' what the outcome is.
If you have raised an issue 'you might experience a response' to your answer.

Even if this is the case, the lack of regular gold posts means that FMR is failing in its fundamental purpose of reassuring the community that the FMods are under control. Judging from the number of anti-FMod posts I see around the forum, clearly some reassurance about this is necessary, but FMR - the primary venue where this should be happening - is not providing it. As I said, not fit for purpose.

Said it many times there is no reason support team don't do FMR.

The support team review fmod bans so it's hardly beyond their capability to review other actions.

But in saying that they were supposed to review them when we had the highlight feature but by a Jmod's admission they ignored them.

Your reasoning is a tad wobbly. Forum Moderation Review still fits its purpose but its appearance isn't pleasing so you take it away off The RuneScape Official Forums and put it under Player Support Portal where you can 'submit a ticket' and still use it the way you would love to.
Still you love to reflect/mirror yourself to Jagex/JMods as you have been used to in the past.
To tell the truth you should reflect/mirror yourself to The RuneScape Community to prevent having to use Forum Moderation Review in any way.
(now u have scrambled eggs :P )

I fundamentally disagree with your statement that FMR "still fits its purpose". Otherwise I wouldn't have made this thread.

Please don't try to make this about me. It isn't. Thanks.

What will you do if Jagex/JMods decide to refuse to answer you or anyone for that matter? You send in a report/ticket and you get no answer?
