Maybe they don't hide opening posts when there is truth within them. You take certain forumer to FH for the same problem over and over again the person causing the problem gets told to stop it while their post is hidden a short while down the track they do the same thing to the person and a few chosen others which has been going on for years - trolls often are not removed.

I doubt that. If an FMod is there locking a thread from the get-go due to it's opening post being in breach of forum rules, then they are operating in their official capacity and not judging the actual veracity, or otherwise, of the content or agreeing or disagreeing with any observations made - they are solely judging whether it complies with forum rules.
If they were locking reluctantly because they agree with the sentiment contained therein they have the option to say something along the lines of "... whilst I sympathise with your points this thread must be locked because it breaches rule(s) blahblah ..." I have seen that done, albeit very rarely.

No. This is not the case at all. You can say something that is truthful, but it'll be hidden as long as it breaks forum rules.
I can go around the forums saying "XXX is an alt of XXXX who is circumventing a forum ban", and it'll be hidden despite being truthful, because it is targeting an individual.
And no, if you report genuine transgressions to Forum Help, the FMods will act on it. If they don't take action, it means that no rules were broken.

We will never know - It's a shame
that
thread got locked as it had valid points.
You are not referring to threads in general?

Yeah I have to agree with this as well.
If an Fmod locks a thread based on a personal grudge or for any other reason not within their guidelines, a Jmod will most certainly unlock it after review.

I said this two days ago, and I'll say it again: STOP. LYING. ABOUT. ME.
Where have I tried to fix your spelling mistakes recently?

Show me where. I'll wait.
You did a few weeks back - I post that often I couldn't find it now and you know it!
Good, so this means you will stop harassing me with my spelling and possibly others??

Original message details are unavailable.
Also, the plural form of reply is 'replies'.
And there have been others too! Wouldn't have a clue where to look though, I just remembered this particular one was in W&F.
