The people who hang out here will primarily be wanting to discuss W&F anyway - the first few pages are not something to base your assumptions on as it is a brand new thread which I asked for people's opinions on.
This is still a forum, though, which is here precisely for the reason of discussing things. The old thread was dead and there was not much discussion there, really. Every few days isn't very good.
Your first two posts were there, and my opinion is still the same having read the 3rd post. Happy for others to post their opinions though!
Remember - most people don't use the forum to make big lengthy posts about how to do things, they just want to post and discuss issues in a more relaxed way.

The opening post has set the standard for the thread and that is what my opinion is based on and the example of the first few pages confirms the standard set. It is not an assumption but rather an opinion on the change of format of the thread.

One of the unique aspects of the previous W&W Discussion thread was that comments about a post were usually written after it was posted. It was very rare for someone to comment before the author of the post was finished posting it, especially if they set reserves (meaning a lengthy post).

However, making big lengthy posts within a discussion taking place on the previous W&F Discussion thread was the norm and was one of the unique aspects of the thread. That was one of my points in my lengthy post on the previous page (discussion not encouraged within a chat thread).
Currently trying to imagine what the reskinned forums would look like. Not sure whether to just expect a different theme, or to also expect a bit of rearrangement in how all posts are shaped and where things are positioned - a change in the forums "framework"
Ooh! What's this Aeorox? We due for yet another forum reskin? I missed that. Where did you see that then? I hope the reskin will make it less visually fussy, not more so! And lighter! It's depressing spending too long in all this darkness!
We're due for one yeah, as part of the RS3 website. Other areas of the website like the wiki are going to get a makeover too.
Original message details are unavailable.
Should we be expecting any changes within the near future? As the Forums are part of the Website and they're getting pretty out-dated now.

: Hi Epicus, we are planning to update the forums in the future, along with many other sections of the website, so watch this space!

With the new Website overhaul, I'm aware there is going to be no current change within the Forums (minus them being moved onto some new servers). Should we be expecting any changes within the near future? As the Forums are part of the Website and they're getting pretty out-dated now.

: We are aware that the forums are of a different design to the new website and we will be phasing these over as and when we are happy they meet a high standard of quality. As the forums attract a lot of traffic, you can understand why it may take a while to do as testing alone will take a long time.
"Campfire:New RuneScape Website" in the onsite Wiki.
So I guess the people working on the website are still on it
Chrisso,
nice new FSRs!
Now you can go redo the FSRs of all the other forums...got a few weeks to spare? Mwhahahaha!
Mistii,
'Hatred aid'? :o Let's hope I never come to that! Lol!
Ah, thought it was something to do with you and directories. Actually, I wasn't really talking about a directory for threads that are in this forum anyway, I meant for other 'significant' threads throughout the forums, such as the sticky in EGC that Sookie referenced for 'quick tweak' game suggestions. I wonder if anyone's got a directory going for those kinds of threads?
Winds,
well, I hope we don't lose the serious discussion element entirely. I don't think that will happen to be honest, because the inclinations of the individuals who frequent this forum generally seem to veer towards enjoying a meaty discussion.
Anyway, like Chrisso says, it's early days on this thread, and there's always a bit of an excited buzz when a new discussion/chat thread is posted. Let's give it a bit of time, and see how things pan out in the longer term?
Aeorox,
Ah! Will you be my new PA? lol. you seem to have your fingers on sorts of threads of scattered information! What a useful person you are! I wonder if they might slip in a few changes/new features too while they're fiddling about with the look of things. That would be nice.
We've certainly been waiting for long enough!

To be perfectly honest, I am glad we have a chat thread. Us forum heads need a time and place to chill with people with similar interests and what not. It is nice to have a mutual place to be with one another if in depth discussion is wanted it can take place on players threads or the threads linked at the beginning. Hell, they can even be discussed here, never judge a thread by the first few pages, everyone wants the page one cookies and will fight to the death by cooker for the following pages.
Treemaid,
There is someone that has got thus thread already made. I will search for the link for you tomorrow, I definitely know it has been made though, a very exhaustive list
....
@Tree, as mentioned in my prior posts (3.8-3.10), which btw, are my opinions on the current format and opening post content which also took into consideration posts that were discussing the changed format rather than a lengthy post 'about how to do things'. If you will note on 1.4, a recap of similar concerns were expressed by you regarding the intended format change. It was not unusual to see a three or four post response made in the prior thread as part of a discussion. The prior threads format allowed for discussion type posts which was what made that format unique.
It does appear that posts that contain serious discussion elements would not be conducive in the new chat and relax format since those types of post tend to be more lengthy and might not be viewed positively, as seen by the response to my posts.
Perhaps it was more of a matter of writing style or authorship since both writing style and authorship play a role in how posts are viewed, which come to think about it, was an area of discussion on the prior thread.
It was nice to have this thread available to post a lengthy comment to so I didn't have to create and maintain a thread and to also be able to participate in a discussion that contained serious elements though.
I am in agreement that time will tell the direction that this thread will take and if you will have to wade thought a bunch of chit-chat clutter to find where part of a meaty discussion begins and where it ends.
Since the prior thread was deemed dead I would like to say that at least it died with it's boots on.

@Mistii72, enjoyed your post, especially this part; 'It is nice to have a mutual place to be with one another if in depth discussion is wanted it can take place on players threads or the threads linked at the beginning'.

Meh, this forum section is far to slow to have a decent chat so I think it will be more of a discussion line thread like the old one was. I don't think WAFF will ever change.
