Possibly when logged into forums it integrates with your "ignore list" so the posts by people on your ignore list are "hidden" similar to when a F-mod or a J-mod hides posts. You can see that the person made a post but it will say "this message has been hidden". Not sure if possible but would be a very cool idea and probably stop a lot of drama on forums

I'm in two minds about that myself. You're right that it might prevent some forums drama, particularly on clan threads and the like, but then again, it would make following some conversations on other threads tricky if that forumer was an active poster. I think too that being able to see when someone has stepped over the mark is important. If many forumers had the same person on their ignore list and that person's posts hidden from their view, it would lessen the chances of any rule-breaking posts by that person being reported on Forum Help and dealt with. I think on the whole, I'd rather we didn't have that.

I just saw a post on another thread where they were discussing the upcoming VIP badges & one individual asked why Fmods didn't have the member badge & an individual posted back (on green) that it was because (paraphrase) the web developers refuse to make room for the member badge to show & it is a easy fix to do but Jagex just won't do it.
Then I see the member badge showing for the Fmods. I was thinking, gosh, I guess wishes do come true.

Lol, ironic, huh?
On a purely selfish level, well, I'm finding having to sport that date and badge a bit of a shock! I wish I didn't have it, but then again, I wish no one had to have it. If all regular forumers have got to have it though, I grudgingly agree that it's better for Fmods to have it too, for the sake of fairness. It's going to take me a while to get used to it though, horrid thing that it is! *sighs deeply*
On a similar note, I'm really really not looking forward to all this 'VIP badge' lark on the forums (or in game for that matter). Makes me sad the way things are going.

@Tree, I'm sure it will be a shock to quite a few others too when they log on. There is the option of going f2p in order to not have the badge show though. Don't get me wrong I am not recommending to anyone to drop membership or anything, because even though I don't care for the badge either, I do look forward to returning to members one day in the future.
I saw your thread on the pending VIP badge. I did read the replies left on the BTS December (qfc 16-17-422-65222089) thread too. There wasn't that many comments on the the BTS thread about the VIP badge in association with the Premier Club package outside of wondering what it will look like & of course, a few comments that mirror your concerns too. However, for the most part the focus was more about the increase in price & giving loyalty points in lieu of runecoins.
I wonder what the VIP badge will look like too & how it will be shown in placement to the membership badge. My guess is that it will show above the membership badge on forums. My how-it-will show guess for in-game is that it will show just like a title does now in game that you can toggle on or off.
It would be nice to see continuity again on the forums with the crowns since Jagex has worked so hard to establish brand recognition of visually seeing the crown for both a designation of employment & in relationship to moderation. I am glad the crown is still used in-game.
It appears they no longer use the crown as a symbol on FB any more though. I don't think they ever used it on twitter. I have noticed that they do use the crown on Reddit though.
