Hello 2 Tron.

Great thread and I get where you are coming from. So to help out I will pass this along to the team and Jagex and see what can be done to make General Great again. (Bad pun but needed to be said) ;)
So that you and I do not have to go back and forth, 2_Tron, I believe I will wait for this response from a Jagex Moderator to see what their thoughts are regarding what's being discussed in this thread ^_^ .
JMods in Websites & Forums always did what was best and this isn't a bin to throw everything in it and when players still do it gets moved, with or without an answer and they learn pretty quick, quicker than you.

@2_Tron

You keep reporting issues within this thread and for the life of me and other F-Mods and CM Arbor can't see any issues.

What I did see was a post by you that came across as a threat telling someone you reported them in game. Any ingame reports must follow ingame rules. Also reports are best sent in by stealth. If you tell someone you reported them it can often come back and bite you.

So I've removed that post.

Please understand this threads topic. Others can post and reply and if you do not like the replies then you have an option to just ignore them and move on. Reporting on topic posts several times to Forum Help thread won't get them removed. It may just end up with warnings issued against you which no one wants to see happen.

So please let people post their thoughts and see how the thread goes.

Well I see, ... if you do not take this seriously than who does.
Issues on The RSOF stay on The RSOF and not with me in RuneScape so that's why I say do not attempt to go that way anymore. ;)
In RuneScape I play RuneScape on The RSOF I post my posts and talk about it in The RSOF. :)

We the F-Mods and CM staff take the Forums seriously. Hence my 15 years 2 months 20 days I've been here.

You need to understand though any misplaced threads can be moved. It's not a huge deal unless we can see a patten we can deal with it on a case by case basis.

You need to get the thread back on topic. All this weaving all over the place has really confused the issue. I've been scratching my head so much in the last 6 hours I've got splinters. :P

The matter about CM Arbor was about a totally different thread and not about this one nor the content of this one.
;) Please don't mix up more things ...

You hit the nail where it is most effective, "unless we can see a pattern" but going on alts you will never discover anything thus you failing to see the issue. Or not??

Nothing is being mixed up here. The FMods and LMods are constantly working together to ensure the forums are the best they can be, and there has been discussion about both this thread and your other one, just as there is discussion about all posts that the team feels the need to discuss.

In this case, Tuffty himself replied to you regarding how the team deals with categorizing posts and how easy it is to move them. There's nothing else to be said on the matter.

With respect to your other post, are you suggesting members of the Mod team are missing things/failing at their RSOF duties due to playing on multiple accounts? It seems your threads are starting to bleed into each other now.

If that's the case, then we should focus on the issue at a wider level, not just in General. If you have not noticed, there are a lot of misplaced threads here in Website and Forums and I have never seen Mod Lyon, who is the most active J-Mod in this sub-forum, warn or punish anyone for misplacing a thread here. Threads are simply moved to a better section. No harm done.

As for your comment regarding people answering the OP's concerns or not, that's something that I always do and I have seen a few F-Mods do it as well. If you teach someone to do something, they will know how to do it and they will not depend on others to do it for them. This is what I mentioned many times that even though the thread is in an incorrect location, it does not hurt to help the OP first and then to try to educate them on where to post next time that they may have an issue. If this is done, they will look at your post as helpful, rather than just critiquing you for "WBModding" or being rude without actually trying to help them.

I remember that a long time ago, Forum Moderators were chastised because all they did was lock threads and whatnot. Then, people complained that they were robots due to the fact that they simply locked the thread and quoted the section of the Rule(s) that were broken. After sometime, F-Mods started responding less robot-like and that's why you see many F-Mods being considerate when it comes to actioning a thread. That's the same case that happens when an F-Mod is considering moving a thread, as Tranq, Tuffty and Louiellen have shared with us in this thread.

It isn't required nor mandatory for anyone to respond to a thread, specially, to answer questions or concerns that the OP may have; however, personally, I like to answer the question and then try to educate the player for future references. F-Mods are not required to action a thread at all as their roles are voluntary, but I have seen a few of them move a thread, answer the question at hand and, of course, educating the OP so that this mistake does not happen again.

If we are going to focus on misplaced threads, I think it must be done throughout the Forums, not just General given the fact that it happens all over the place. As of right now, many F-Mods have stated that it isn't an issue and I believe it because it comes from them: they deal with these issues publicly and internally on a daily basis. We should put our energy in educating the OP of the misplaced threads rather than punishing them, unless they are doing so to break the rules and this is easily caught by F-Mods, CMs and J-Mods. J-Mods are able to determine alt accounts and these are always dealt with.
