Hiya Froud,

I can put go to top/buttons on the profile page (the same buttons you see here on this page). You also reminded me about a suggestion from Rowley to return you the page bottom after submitting a signature. So I'll do both together :)

Just popping in to say hi from the dead. How you been?
It's Kable if you don't remember the name change.

Hiya Kable, it's nice to see you :)

All is well here and I hope the same is for you too. I was actually thinking about you recently (during Halloween) and hoped you'd catch a glimpse of my re-skin I did for the weekend.

Couple of pics below in case you missed it.

You take care and I hope you drop in again soon :)

Yeah I completely missed it. You never seem to disappoint, though. I could use that theme t at all times apart from the avatars, I love murky unsaturated colors like that.

Honestly everything hasn't been that good this year, but I decided to spend $1000 on myself for christmas just because of all the crap that has happened recently. Buying new truck stuff always makes me feel better, lol. Doesn't matter what I own, I don't think anything isn't customized in some way; the truck is my bae though. I really should put a pic on here just for laughs, but I don't have any on the computer right now.

I know it's possible to track all public Jagex Moderator posts, but I can't remember which fansite actually has or had something for this that showed the last 24 hours of postings. I'm searching for it right now though and can't find hair nor tail of it in Fansite Staff (where I thought it was).

Edit: http://www.scapersden.com/jtalk/source/rsforums

Now I know that that still isn't forum friendly, but maybe seeing how they might be doing it could be helpful. Of course it won't show non-public forums like Rants or Specialist forums. I can't remember when they made it or if it is still updated. Just figured I'd push that here for a notice.

Hiya Ryan M :)

I have seen the jtalk thing but I haven't looked into it. I figure they are scraping jmod profiles daily to find posts (just a guess I could be way wrong). What they do seems to work well for their set up.

Scraping the data once a day isn't really a big issue. For me the issue is that the data is up to 24 hours old. For example any jmod posts made after the scrape wont be known by the app.

That really puts me off for two reasons, it's not up to date, and people will assume it's a bug when there is a thread with jmod posts and no indicator from the app. But I have another issue I'll mention a little later.

I wondered about using linkify to submit jmod posts to a database. This would occur when a user viewed a page with a jmod post. I would mean linkify would have to check and update the db periodically. I think that method would be closer to real time, but still not perfect. Maybe used in conjunction with scraping would be better.

Currently I don't have any plans to do this. That doesn't mean I wont, but for now it seems like a lot of work and resources and will never be 100% perfect.

Okay, the first two issues were not real time, and people may think something is bugged because it's not reliable. The third issue comes down to the forum content and users.

Jmod icons indicating they have posted will give weight to a thread (more people will be inclined to post). I'm not sure that's a good thing.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful toward staff posts, and it's my opinion only. But Jtalk has shown me a large number of jmod posts are really not worthy of giving weight to threads nor do they always equate to important or relevant information.

I really think Jtalk has the right idea. Because their data doesn't give weight to threads in a way that linkify would if I were to do a similar thing. This idea has been tossed around for a long time now, still so many cons.

Not sure if I made much sense with all that, I hope I did :)

I'm not sure if it's the newest dev version at fault (haven't checked if it occurs in older versions, but it appears that Chrome does not enjoy the text arrow:

However, it works properly with the opposite text arrow at the bottom. I specified a width of 30px which fixed it (while keeping it centered).

Thanks Dsctatom, I'll do the fixed width thing you suggested.

I'm curious are you running dev or canary version of chrome as the buttons look different from my end but not like in your pic. For me, the arrow buttons are narrower and I assumed that was from a forum update.

Anyway I'll get a fix out soon :)
