Okay here's what I've been playing around with, RS-Linkify Version 3.0.7.2 is needed.

This is my attempt at a lightbox. Keep in mind it's not finished, but I need test it and run it before I do any more on it. There are limitations and it will only work with standard embedding. I will eventually tie it into everything when I feel it's finished.

- Clicking an image will pop out the pic and resize it as best I can to your browser window.

- A single click anywhere will close it.

- Scrollwheel will zoom in and out at the cursor position.

- Clicking and dragging (only when zoomed in) will pan the image.

- Middle click opens image in new tab (works for images in and out of lightbox).

Remember update RS Linkify to Version 3.0.7.2 to see the lightbox.

Here's a test image complements of Rowley :)

Feel free post some test images and try it out. I have already found very tall narrow images don't work too well. But that's just how it is when fitting an image to screen and keeping aspect ratio. Fortunately right clicking and opening in a new tab is always an option.

Updates....

- Transitions have been sped up, they now take .5 seconds
- Click anywhere to close
- Middle click to open image in new tab

Thanks to Morgan, Blasty and Blazey80 for the feedback and help :)

Oh god I feel like I've made you go through so much work... <.<

I now feel like this guy:

As for the lightboxes, they are brilliant. I have one minor issue though: It takes the scroll bar on the right hand side into account when calculating your browser size. Is it possible you could make it not count ~20 pixels on the right hand side?

Thank you as always Indy. You are a star.

@Rowley, glad you like it so far. I was thinking I might be better off to hide the scrollbar while the image is popped out and restore it when it's closed.

And aww poor Moobrand. I hope he isn't too shy to post here.

@Glacor, thanks, and I hope you like your new title :)

Okay I've tried a few things, it is possible but this is how it looks.

That looks kind off to me and tbh I'm not keen on doing that.

I've tried hiding the scrollbars and that works well, everything has perfect symmetry. But the content of the page jumps 17px to left and back again when the images opens and closes, that's off putting as well.

So what I can instead of making background behind the image semi transparent like it is currently in the lightbox. I can make it opaque, this hides the content moving when the scrollbars disappear. It looks like this...

So I have two options, leave it as is or remove the scrollbars and make the background opaque.

Opinions?

Edit: I might just do an update with the last idea and see what people think :)
