all the active ones have no qualms about locking old threads with countless hours put in for the most trvial of reasons.

Luckily a Jmod happened to have a look and unlocked it straight away as they could see the amount of effort put in and that having the thread open wasn't going to cause any problems:

"a long standing player who's put so much effort into creating a 100+ page guide - having a single thread on the forums wasn't really doing any harm"


So ye they'd rather lock a thread that's 2 years old in a dead forum because it breaks a rule (a rule that was seemingly just made up) than think it's not doing any harm and might be of use so we'll leave it alone

I guess when you give an unpaid volunteer employee a bit of power they simply can't help but wield it to gain the psychological reward of controlling others. In one breath saying they wish the forums were more active, in the next locking everyone's threads. But that's enough of my ranting. You'd think after years they'd get bored of it and want come back to our level and join us. No, they love the color green.

A lot of the fault is on jagex for allowing it for all these years. I mean take Lou they never changed how they behaved yet it wasn't until the last CM mod that they were removed from the team.

Seeing as that was I who locked it. Was it doing any harm, no it wasn't. However per the protocols that Jagex issued to the F-mods it was against the rules at the time. So no it wasn't just made up on the fly. What J-mods do, J-mods do, they can massage the rules any way they see fit.

However the F-mods still gotta follow the procedures laid out by them. They're not allowed to deviate.
