I'll just wait...I'm sure better perks will come out in 2017 anyway.
New skilling perks coming, no ETA.
It's Mod Ryan's TAPP.
To add: These will be Firemaking and Smithing exclusive perks, but seeing there is Smithing and Mining rework coming along, it won't be a surprise if that update is purposefully delayed to come together with that rework (so the Smithing perks are
compatible
with the 'New Smithing".).
That said, in the Dev Q&A Year in Review, they said that Invention will continue getting "improvements' during 2017. We can guess that these improvements can mean new perks, but it is very unlikely that it will be a rework to the perks System.

I can afford the insanely priced perks, but I'm using a different setup that is nearly as efficient (and better for my use/preferences anyway), but much cheaper. You don't *have* to get the supposedly best perks. Feel free to message me in-game if you would like recommendations for a decent setup, with a plausible cost.

Augmented tinderboxes and hammers
- As3 + Pr4Eq2 - up to 11.51% with aoe
I'll probably go (or rather, stay) with Cost + OK deeps. I would go for mad cost + hench deeps if it was less rng dependant; that's probably a bad reason but rng annoys me (looking at you, 40m spent trying for flanking 3 and no luck).
I do have loads of precise components though... I'll think about it.

Time to re-open the attempts for Pr4Eq2... Gonna keep a record of my own attempts.
No luck in ~350 attempts. 8 times 4xPrecise+1Armadyl, ~100 with 4xPrecise+5xConnector, the rest with 5x Precise.
Plenty of Pr3Eq2 and lower
A few of Pr4, mainly from the armadyl recipe.

So from the first look at those numbers I thought 20m for aftershock in order to lose 0.16% damage seems like a huge waste after they change this. But, don't forget that aftershock can hit multiple targets if they are available. Not only that but equilibrium 3 is not exactly easy to get from what I've been told. So if you already have aftershock, it would make sense to keep it for a minimal dps loss (which can potentially be a gain) instead of getting rid of it, and then upgrade precise.
Hi
As3 + Pr5 - up to 10.09%
As3 + Pr4Eq1 - up to 10.17333%
Eq3 + Pr5 - 10.25%
As3 + Pr3Eq2 - up to 10.25666%
As3 + Pr4Eq2 - up to 11.50666%
For those who own aftershock, I'm thinking switching p5 to p3e2 right as the update goes live would be the best option. Then, if you have a spare 2k precise components for each of your weapons you can try to get p4e2.
Hi
I guess that's not too bad, but I'd say it's only really worth attempting if you have left over rumbling components from using up tectonic sets.
If you actually use tectonic legs for components and not combat (by that I mean buy and break at 9 immediately) then it's like 15m for 4 attempts. This ends up being close to the cost of aftershock (around 18m?) and the uncertainty involved means it might end up costing even more.
