I did some attempts to get crackling 3 with venomblood after they made it possible to break korasis without augmenting them. You seem to be getting roughly 1 component every 5 swords, making the cost 2.5m per component on average. That's not too bad if you ask me. Unfortunately though, after 10 attempts I didn't see a single venomblood show up, let alone together with crackling 3. That's 25m wasted and I'm not really sure if the perk is worth getting anymore since that could very quickly turn into 250m without any impressive results. Hi

Just wondering, how high are the odds of getting
genocidal and caroming 2
with
3 shadow and 2 bandos components
?

Want it as a viable weapon perk without relying on augmented armour.

Asking this again, since caroming 3 basically is overkill. Other combo's with caroming are also welcomed. Just remember this is for casual slayer past 120 invention, when I like to spend less gp on augmented gear (hence me not putting genocidal on armour).

I went ahead and made one because I had spare components and it seemed like a cool idea. Caroming 2 + Genocidal on the first try. The 3 shadow components give guaranteed rank 2, so as long as you have a high enough invention level it will probably roll both perks easily. But for the record, I put the shadow components in before the bandos ones to be safe.

EDIT: checked your stats, I'd say go for it! :)

Sorry for my late reply but thank you! That really helps a lot =)
I will gather a few more levels before making this perk combo but definitely will now!

If I've got impatient 3/devoted 2 on my gear already, what do you think makes more sense as a 4th perk: absorbative 5, lucky 5 or enhanced devoted 3?
It kind of depends on what you usually use that gear for. But in general, assuming you do fight stuff where you use protect prayers, then I'd say enhanced devoted. The reason is that, even if ed3 is limited to working only if you pray, the difference in average damage reduction compared to the others is huge: abs3 is 3% (doesn't work with most typeless, but does work for Telos' specs), lucky 5 is 2.5% (and works with most typeless) and dev2 is 7.5% average reduction, while ed3 alone is ~16.9% average. I used void a while ago for my pestiferous components, took me 12 tries in total (6 tops). Not really worth it probably, but it was Pest Control spotlight and I had some irl stuff to work on anyway. At first I wanted to get for both melee and range (for nex), but I changed my mind lol. Well, at least if you don't have biting 3, it's easy to get biting 2 + venomblood.

I already have biting 3. As I posted in the invention forums, I'm sitting at a 60m loss right now without a single successful attempt, and I regret spending the money to honor pixels that died to the pest queen instead of dumping it in the well to help children dying to cancer. Hi

Well yeah I was told it's 2% chance to get it so I'm expecting it to cost like 150m per gizmo. At that point, you might as well not get it, if it was a huge dps bonus then maybe but it's just a utility perk. The cost by itself is not that high, but the cost for such a trivial thing seems ridiculous to me. Hi

Any changes to the tool gizmo recommendations due to the Arc buffs? I have an island with 3x alaea and 2x moai so neither alaea salt nor wobbegongs are in short supply and Furnace 3 works fine. Wondering if Polishing 2/3 is worth using to cut bamboo on the main island for soups or if wise 3 would be better on a crystal hatchet still.
On the mainland I'd only use my pickaxe and rod on seren stones and waterfall fishing, respectively.
