4 New Invention Perks discussed on Livestream today.

Enhanced Efficiency/Devoted, Crystal Shield, and Flanking

- Enhanced Perks are improved versions of existing perks
- Crystal Shield is tanking perk where you damage is stored in a pool for 10 seconds and damage taken afterwards is drained from that pool for 30 seconds
- Flanking increases damage to targets that aren't facing you, but you lose the ability to stun.

2 New Components: Faceted and Clockwork (Both "Rare" Components)

- New Perks will be obtained via these new components
- Various different sources for these components

Enhanced perks - Why?

Crystal Shield - sounds like a second barricade, might be op, but I wonder how will it work if you put the shield off after it stops taking the damage for you

Flacking - that sounds useless

Me and a friend were talking about new optimal perks a few hours ago. As it stands we have no clue on how much they'd change current setups because we don't know max ranks and how much components are needed for each perk. However, I am glad that Jagex is making these perks so DPS/tank setups aren't so similar. This is a step in the right direction.

Flanking sounds really good for pretty much Yakamaru only, situational for Scopulus/Vitalis/Teamsplit(?) P1/P3 Vorago and Durzag, and absolutely useless everywhere else.

So new optimal perks for DPS armor (I'm betting):
Top: Crackling 3 + X & Biting 3
Bottom: Impatient 3 + Devoted 2-3 & Lucky 5 + Hoarding
Top (Crackling switch): Clear Headed 2 + Reflexes + X
Bottom (Flanking alternative): Impatient 3 + Devoted 2-3 + Flanking

Perk analysis

Enhanced Efficiency
- joke perk, unless it's VERY VERY buffed

Enhanced Devotion
- Buffs the current best tank perk, buuut you lose the impatient combo so why get it?

Flanking
- HENCH
- Free dps buff to asphyx
- RIP wrack city :^)

Crystal Shield
- EXTRA HENCH. 10s of reprisal which turns into extra hp instead of extra damage
- voke boss, 10s of auto attacks = 10s of free barricade
- voke boss, tank specs = 30s of free barricade
Can you self-injure like reprisal?
Can you use debuffs to slow pool drain?
Can you heal group with 11k bonus hp? Giggity.

Looks like Flanking will be a top perk for Magic, Range keeps its stuns for raids.

Imp3/Dev3 BIT3 or Bit2Combo
Flank/Cshield Crackl3/Hoard

Thoughts?

If the perk is actually called Flanking then either Mod Wilson's pronunciation of the perk was off or I'm slightly hard of hearing...
