Runescape competitions should be something everyone can attempt. Combative contests, or things that require a certain level aren't as fun, because not everyone can participate. Some artwork contests in the past weren't for everyone, especially not me ( I can't even draw a stick figure correctly
). Heres my idea for a Runescape contest, sorry if you have already suggested this, I didn't see anything like this, but I could have missed one in all the posts that are on this topic.
My suggestion:
A Quest-Creation contest, with guaranteed content. Every player would have the ability to write a detailed story for the next awesome quest. Either a continuation of a series, or a new quest storyline altogether. All players would submit their quests storyline by mailing it online, or mailing it to Jagex's Castle
Jagex would select their favourites, 5 for example. These 5 quests would be put up on a Guaranteed Content Poll, where all players could vote for their favourite. The quests could be both f2p and p2p.
This is something that almost every single player in Runescape would be able to do. The person who creates it can decide almost everything about it. The rewards must be resonable, even though it might be awesome to have a quest reward with 500 sets of full dragon, it wouldn't be very practical.
At the end of the voting session ( a week or so ), the winner would be selected. This player would get whatever goodies Jagex decided to award them. Such as a Big ticket or a batch of cookies.
The quest, being guaranteed content, would be implemented into the game eventually, although Jagex may wish to tweak parts of your quest to make it even more awesome. I could give more detail on how it would work, but I don't have enough room. So comment back, support, or give some constructive criticism, I'd appreciate it.
