My opinion on the subject takes my personal opinion and general annoyance with the internet into account as well as the maturity level of your average RuneScape player or for that matter.. Generally anyone on the internet as a whole..
1. If you add voice chat into RuneScape you're GOING to have profanity, arguments, fights over asinine things, and just a generally abusive environment. You already get this in RuneScape with it's Community to begin with because of their lack of maturity, this is just giving them a more direct way at screaming random obscenities. Don't believe me? Log onto XBOX Live and try using voice-chat, tell me if the behaviour and environment is conducive to ANYTHING other than flaming and e-peen waving.
2. As a girl, frankly.. In spite of the 'you're not actually a girl' argument that seems to be so popular, I probably wouldn't use the voice-chat feature all that often. People (boys in particular) have a habit of being more abusive towards females and even if that weren't the case, I don't want to be harassed/followed around by a mass of geek stalkers I accrue through the simple act of speaking in a video game.
3. See point 1. - It's worth mentioning in deuces.
So, yea. Add it in, I won't be using it, and I believe you'll regret it. You think the community is abusive and bad now? Wait until they can actually literally scream at you. Then you're going to start seeing or rather.. hearing.. some truly disturbing and ridiculous behaviour.
