To be honest,
I'm personally, loving the idea of a voice chat.
It would make the game alot more interactive, and have a much more "real life" feel to it.
Great suggestion dudes.

no I don't agree people cursing at each other,saying one word people will be like STFU squeaker,people arguing.plus i don't want to buy a mike for a game i don't even play 24-7,also being at the grand exchange people will be saying for example(buying rune boots 1000g).i see a mike for something like xbox live but not runescape sorry i just don't agree with this
ill quit if runescape becomes voice chat

What I do is that I play RS but use *box voice chat to talk! SO we even don't use the clan system in RS, we use the party option from Xbox Live

Just No! Bad idea.
It will put too much stress on clan leaders to police it.
It will put too much prssure on clan members to use it.
I'm not sure Jagex won't devolve all responsibility for personal security to the players, yet again.

I know this will take up some Developer resources and time to design this, but I think if you create this it will make a lot of people happy.
My main concern though... you mention in the poll about a possible fee to use these services. With a number of free voice chat services out there I can't imagine this would be very popular if you charge a fee to use it.
Just make sure that if it's ran through the existing clan chats that the owners have the option to enable or disable the voice chat feature.

Im normaly using Skype to have voice-conversations with my clan. Its just easier to talk instead of typing, also if your in pk or fighting jad its easier to use voice chat.

Honestly, I would love this idea. It would reduce the typing required.

However, I have a few issues.
First off, if the voice chat service is added, then it could lead to a strain on the system. As a result, massive glitches could occur. Dare I mention OpenGL(R), which still hasn't been fixed. Who knows? Maybe if the new voice communication system is released, it could somehow make the OpenGL(R) glitch spread to other graphic settings? If you plan on releasing voice chat, I would recommend fixing the current glitches so that they don't get worse.

An in-game voice chat for RuneScape would be awesome! I would use it all the time, unless you have to pay for it

I think it would be a awesome idea to include voice chat in runescape because people are always using skype and other programs to chat with each other. The only reason i would say no to this is if it makes the game slower or produces lag when I am playing the game.
