I use voice chat for most games, but only when I'm online with people I know in real life.
I can't see using it over runescape, but I imagine alot of people (clans fighting bosses or doing 'activities', especially) would get some use out of it. My only three concerns are:
1. This is obvious, but it must still be said. There HAS to be a way to mute people/turn off voice chat. Similarly, there has to be an option for allowing the voice chat to be played through speakers, headset, or both.
2. I worry that some organized events will become exclusive to people with microphones (and feel like using them). As an example, what if I join a group for Dungeoneering and they kick me because I'm not using a microphone (or won't allow me to join in the first place).
3. Profanity. I don't think I need to say any more than that. You can't filter voices like you can typed words. I've always said that if a person knows the definition of the word then it doesn't matter if they see it typed in a game or see it in a movie. But when insults like that are directed AT them verbally, it's entirely different.
Also, why is this a forum-goers exclusive poll? Why isn't it on the front page?
