Hi.
I think mostly this to be a good and bad idea. As has been stated before, this could wreck havok on the community, such as:
Racial comments/discrimmination, perverse talking/"E-stalking",And foul language being spewed out, screaming/playing music loudly down the mic.
It would most likely split the community into age groups, according to a range of age, maybe 2-3 years difference.
I personally would think introducing voice chat to be ok. But, I myself wouldn't introduce this to Runescape, because, the nature of people now, swearing and being rude is something of the norm, but is still very much offensive.
But on the other hand, it could pull some communities closer together, make minigame/activities more enjoyable and more tactful, and judging on that, it seems to have more downsides than upsides.
Everyone has their own opinions, But, I do believe this would cause more harm than good to Runescape.
But if Jagex can find a way around these problems, I am in favour of voice chat.
^_^

Definately would use and love this feature. I use teamspeak for mostly clan wars and penguin hunting as part of the herding team. Sometimes skype for bosses, so it would be handy instead to do this.
Cons:
Though there probably would be some bugs or lags ...
E-stalking would increase, as well as other.. err.. pixel.. cyber..ing.
There goes on the list of cons..
.. what are you still waiting for jagex? get voice chat ;)

Voice chat in certain games is a really bad idea because it increases the load time as well as puts a lot of stress on the main servers, ending in lag on many people who's computers don't work as well as others.
A voicechat system in Runescape would work best in my opinion if it were only restricted by people within clan chats, say a voice chat option in that clan chat. This would work out for events if players were forced into a clan chat for their team in the waiting rooms, making sure no one is left out of the plan.

i do not use a voice chat but have resorted to walkie talkies at one point. i would love an in game voice chat, what would be smart is to model it on the clan chat system except allow the clan chat leader to determine who gets so speak in the chat, similar to how you are not able to type in a clan chat. i think this would not allow abusive users to spam there voice. OR since jagex loves its paying customers so much try to work a deal with another site to allow members to have free access to a voice chat. im 100% for a team speak on rs and i beleive in jagex that if they really wanted to, they could incorporate a team speak into runescape.

Personally, I think it would be a great idea, with of course advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages: It would help a lot clans (because they usually use Ventrilo,Skype,TeamSpeak and others during wars)
It would help a lot Massive PvM's
Disadvantages: Like many people said already before, Cyber-ing would increase and also lagg would also increase if there is a big ammount of people talking.
I guess there will be a voice communication ignore list? Because there might be people that will spam and get advantages over the microphone.
Thanks
