I think it would be a great idea for voice chat with friends, clan chat OR by request in game. I do not want to hear what everyone else has to say, just my friends and clanmates mostly. I think voice chat would be useful. I should be able to turn it on, off and have control of the settings.
I say YES to voice chat.
Thanks
Cara
Personally I think this could be both a good and bad idea. At the moment there are an endless number of problems concerning current RuneScape lag. Not all of these are player related either, most in fact have to do with the game itself. Adding a feature to the game such as this would only make matters worse. Jagex needs to focus more on current problems, rather then trying to pacify players with regular new content. This could be a very nice feature, and since it would be from Jagex there wouldn't be an issue of being hacked that exists with skype and many others. However, at this immediate time I think there's other more important more issues to be solved first.

oh and how would this work also. Its not like audio can be logged in the chat box and i think it would have to be seperate in game some how. If the chat was played publically to every one the chat coming through trade worlds in the ge like world 2 would be inaudible
I think we all know Jagex wouldnt release voice chat to everybody
(so we were all talking at once) You simply wouldnt hear anything!
>.< maybe a few buzzing sounds.

This is a great idea!!! I have never thought this to be possible, and it'll be great to be able to use voice chat in dungeoneering. I would love for it to be able to select a player or a group of players and be able to talk without typing. It would be annoying for players to keep asking to speak to you though....

'It would be annoying for players to keep asking to speak to you' - agreed, but people will still ask for money and its your choice whether or not you give to them. I think the same would apply for the voice chat requests. If you don't know somebody or if you don't want to talk to them, click decline.

Since that we have an empty tab open, make it so that we could make a party, inviting only the players we want to talk/hear talking. Also for noone to join unless by invitation or by a pass (I dont know really, something that enables unwanted players joining). And the owner of the party can kick whoever they want, just as it was a clan chat. Also, if you can make it that only certain people can talk in a clan chat. (i.g., I'm a famous player, and I have a numerous amount of players in my clan chat. Only I wish to talk, or I can make ranks talk, by whatever rank I assign to them.) Other than that I really like the idea, and look foward to it. Would make it really easier so I dont have as many windows open
.

Yeah man! Maybe even make another option in the audio settings too.
So players can up or lower the mic input & output volumes.
