I'm 25/75 on it right now...Reasons I like it?
1. Would be faster than typing (yep, only reason)
Reasons I hate it?
1. There is already enough Trolls typing as is, I wouldn't want to hear them talk.
2. This is a 50/50 I guess, if it was free chat (as in, u could hear anyone, at anytime, then forget that)...at the G.E. you would hear little Kids/Raging people screaming into their mic when their parents aren't home thinking they are cool. (if it was clan chat only, then sure, I would be fine with it...But there has to be a mute button for certain people).
3. If you have to pay for it, there would be seldom ammounts of people who use it, Hell, Steam and Xfire are fine enough :) .
So, Pretty much all that in shortened form?
Don't add chat unless it's Free, Clan Chat only, and there is a mute button.
What does everyone else think?

If voice chat was something you had to choose to do I'd love it. Like have a voice option in clan chat. I wouldn't like random people coming up to be and talking though. The GE would get a little wild too. Voice chat would be awesome if it was between clan chats and friends.

My niece Ladi_jessa and I would go in *** chat or Skype chat if we are doing a quest together or something that requires me to help her or her helping me..Voice chat for Runescape would be great! TemaSpeak. I use that when I'm playing another game. ALL FOR IT!!!

I would definitely use a voice chat hosted by rs. I use Skype most of the time but not all of my rs friends have it, so it is a little frustrating when we are doing a group event. If all members had the same voice chat, I think more people would try it out and it would be a universal thing that we all use. My suggestion is to make it so that voice chat does not slow or lag the game.

improving other lenguages,
I want to give my opinion as a foreigner player of runescape (living in argentina)that is a really good chance for all non english talking people to train a second language. its not only important to know how to type but is also important to know how to speak and listen in other lenguage to practice it.
this is mostly an advantage to frech, indians, ect people to know a little more about english due to the quantity of english speaker people, but you can also improve other lenguages if you just log in on a frech or a mexican world for example.

This poll seems to put me in an odd state.
I did use voice chat in the past, but I haven't used it in 3-4 years.
For now I don't see the use of it for me personally.
I stepped out of the PvP world for quite a while and don't get in touch with clans either.
Altough it is a good idea, if the player has option to install it or not, it would be better.
Like the add-on RuneScape Community Toolbar for example.
I might use it in the future if it's nessecary. ;) -=RuneScape and RuneFest veteran=- (20 Year Veteran cape, when?)
Whenever there is a discussion between RS3 and OSRS; remember Classic tops RS and OSRS. ^_^

There could be an option to 'ignore' players that spam the mic, perhaps.
And only make the voice-chat enabled for players who are friends with eachother?
I agree with the fee for using the voice-chat service...
People may just stick with free online chat software instead.

It be Clan chat only, Or Maybe even a new "Sesson" or something where you "invite" to a "Party" like Xbox Does or something like that, I HIGHLY DOUBT it be Public.
EDIT: And as player above me states, Im thinking there will be a Mute/Ignore feature.

It's really nice to see that Jagex is finally incorporating some player voiced updates. You guys really seem to be listening to the players more than ever. I personally would love to see voice chat in Runescape. It's another step up in an already awesome mmo. Features like this really perfect the game by making things more convenient.
