I don't believe that voice chat would be a good idea. As mentioned (probably several times) unless you had someone monitoring every conversation, it would be incredibly difficult to find someone rule-breaking via microphone, as there would be no evidence except for the person who spoke, and the person who heard it.
It's just my personal opinion, but I would never use it, as I prefer to speak to my friends via an in-game service where you can message. It's longer to type, as it takes longer than to talk, but I believe it's easier to catch rule-breakers, as you can go back in time to gain evidence.

I think this would be a Fantastic idea! It will make it easier to comunicate while player kiling in the wild or dueling in the arena. Typing and fighting can get you kiled sometimes so voice chat would be a plus for Runescape. I use it and I will use it if it ever comes out in Runescape.

Although this would be a great improvement for a minority of us, as mentioned it would make Rule-breaking harder to detect.
I suppose saving all the voice-chat conversations to check them later costs a lot more of space than simple text conversations.
When someone is luring someone else to a phishing site, I think voice chat would encourage people to visit that site, as the person they are talking to feels 'real', not just a virtual character.

It'd be "okay" but What I'm more concerned about is, What about places with alot of people.. It'd be like spam you couldn't hear what they where all saying or buying/selling like at the g/e or they could always put up something really loud and kind of screechy to their headset/mic to annoy people..
I like rs how it is.

Sounds like a wonderful idea, will stop ddos attacks. My concern is how will it be regulated and how will everyone talk? would it only be 1-to-1. Such as a friendlist conversation? Would it be possible to have a clan chat conversation? 19 Year RS Veteran|OSRS Player

Every once in a while i will call a friend to talk about runescape matters, like for example i was helping my friend nick with a quest and typing him instructions took like a paragraph and he was like woah woah to much at once i'm lost, is there a better way to do this? so i was like yeah i can just call ya, since talking u can give more details faster and u can give someone intructions in while might take like 12 lines typing on runescape u can explain to him in like 30 seconds on the phone and it just makes things easyier

Jagex if your going to make your own thing so ppl can talk to each other you need to have some control over it because last thing i want to see in the news is some crazy 45 year old man killed some 13 year old because the 13 year old was trying to talk to him over your new talk thingy because he wanted tips on 99 stats... doesn't quite make since how it would happen like that but i'm sure u get that point
