some people have probably hit this right on the head. jagex has had this planned for months now; maybe even close to a year. the fixed poll was just a way to bring it about into the open so as to make it look like everybody on runescape and everyone on WOW even wanted this.
so it doesnt matter how much everyone disagrees with it. it has probably been happening for the last 6 months behind the scenes. like they said; when has jagex ever said they were going to do a big update and then have it done within a couple of weeks to a month? NEVER!
so i guess we all just have to accept it, and all of us start working on getting accounts going and leveled up so we can sell them at a really good price. hey you never know. maybe this year is jagex swan song year and they wanna go out with a bang. a big climactic run before the big finale. salut jagex! we will miss you when you go.

this is where you fail t realize something a big up date like this would take a lot of time however they only need to reinterrate a program and reprogram a few things because it already exist once a good portion of it still is around their for it won't take more than a month at the most to "fix the upate for release" all they have ot do is add it in with changes and previous updates added then go back and move a few thing
also jagax wil lnot be fall soon the current system was the way of rs long before *ow many years of it with little complain and only a few years of this with many complains
when the new trade system came out i dis liked the idea but i gave it a chance and it was worse so i left and have only popped on for new skills or interesting quest here and there
the facts are very few people dis agree with it more agree with it just because you lost means that

ive a feeling you are right. ive wondered what was the use of having agility armor. if you are right, they created the armor to give rcers a fighting chance against pkers. the armor gives no attack bonuses, but gives ballanced defense against all attacks. the big thing is, it cuts down on the weight, so if your having to wear helm, shield and boots with it, you still have low weight, thus lower run energy loss.
still, its an insult (in my humble opinion) to have a vote to do nothing more than justify their decision.

i would probably respect jagex a little more if they just came out and said" hey we are putting the wildy and free trade back in. we are losing money and we need to make more bank to stay happy. besides, its our game and we'll do whatever we want to it."

Neo, Agent, Solastic and others,

I find it amusing how some of us here can understand exactly what happened and what the motivations were with these "votes" while others are so blind they still sound like they're not sure it's going to happen.
I think it must have something to do with the different types of people that are inclined towards Pking, botting or other anti-social styles of playing RS versus those attracted to other less self-centered styles of play.
Edit: Neo, I've expressed that very sentiment on this thread myself.

...we are losing money ...
they werent losing money. membership had climbed back up out of the pit it went into 6 months after the update. there are more players (vs bots) in game now that ever before and not just since the vote was announced.
other than that, i agree. they put it back because thats the part they liked. they have never made any bones about admitting that they hate removeing it in the first place or that they had investigated the possibilities of selling gps and items themself.

Oh My Gawd!
Thanks to the incredible acumen of some sharp-sighted players who are obviously in the know, we now realize that Jagex has been engaged in a covert conspiracy to bring back massive parts of the game that most players loved!
And our intelligence says that this has been going on for a WHOLE YEAR. Maybe even THREE YEARS!
The vote was a fraud! It merely showed that most players actually do love the parts of the game that Jagex was planning to bring back all along!
How can I live with this terrible knowledge! My innocence has been shattered!
Down with Jagex for making dastardly secret plans to satisfy its customers!
Down with Jagex!

Solastic (from the previous page),
Those statistics still show that 2/3 of the people voting want the old wilderness back. And that's enough of a majority to break a filibuster. ;-)
Jagex could delay things, annoy a lot of players, and hold a third poll that separates bringing back the wildy and bringing back free trade.
However, since bringing back the wildy without free trade is impossible, they'd have to leave that option out of the poll.
Ranters would complain about how they don't get to vote for the wildy but not for free trade. Anti-ranters would have to explain over and over again that it's impossible.
More ranters would complain that players have to wait even longer to get what they want. Anti-ranters would give us enlightening monologues about "fairness."
We still would not have a clear picture of how many wanted the wildy, how many wanted free trade, and how many wanted both.
And after all that hullabaloo, the results would be exactly the same as the results of Jagex's simpler poll.
Sounds like a huge waste of time to me.
