ive been playing runescape for 5 years started when i was in 6th grade now im a junior in highschool, when i first started Playing runescape it was totally a new thing for me i got attached instantly, for me who has never touched a bow n arrow in real and always clutching it in my dreams the idea of holding one in the game made me attach so fast BRINGING MY DREAM INTO ANOTHER WORLD it was amazeing being introduced to multiplayer playing with millions was so fun i must say i learned so much I GOT SCAMED i got owned in wilderness i went through everything that u could think of that sucks for a player and im STILL here still playing on Main reason for this is simple, its another World, the world were i so ever dreamed of catching fishes with my barehands i love runescape so much i made sure all of my friends tried it now i had around 20 friends that i made play with me at certain times and 12 were we form a team n went wilderness...ahhh the good old days but on topic once again it was another world being scam being a fool n geting attacked by a spear man n almost loseing my stuff THESE things thats happening in this world made me a better person in real life recalling when me and my friend kittyman104 was striveing for a whip at the time it was 2mill we were completely poor if u showed us 10m we would honor you hehe we worked so hard and we always come to that
point of giving up n sticking with a dragon scimitar i remember when it was about that time to gain a whip i had 900k exactly and rune g it was around 1mill at the time i got caught up in excitement n i got scammed that shows patience is the key to success haha something me n my friend was missin the whole time though me and this person who i have never met were like brothers if i gotten that whip that day for sure he would of been the only person that i would share it with.striveing for what i want and supporting not only my self but others made me a great person in real, after tradeing was stoped..it hit me

ive been playing a GAME this whole Time,i didnt feel the way i felt for runescape anymore i felt that i was imprisoned
robed off my freedom i couldnt drop items on the floor anymore THOUGH this was wrong im sure u all did it -__- xD
the idea of brakeing the law and supporting not only me self
but others has well...
i couldnt enlighten a new person to the game. the feeling of
helping someone thats totally clueless showing them were the cows were bringing them to far off places showing them how awesome runescape was.it was a good feeling..this made me so
helpful in real aiming for that feeling that was in my stomach
at the time..after saying far off places reminded me of
zamorok wine hehe was so awesome felt like i was really in the
midevil times where u get black mailed haha it was just like the movies *hey kid u wana get stronger, wana gain 10 lvls easy?* it actually felt like a world at the time
althose stuff that was taken out to make the game more comfortable for newbs made me upset my view is "you learn
it the hard way"

I think it would be safe to then assume that if Jagex felt the need to clarify that gravestones would still exist OUTSIDE of the wilderness, that they would no longer exist inside the wilderness. That's what I am reading from the language they have chosen to use. Of course, Jagex can do what they chose, but right now, it appears that there will not be gravestones in the wilderness.

So I was just informed about this update by a younger cousin of mine. I haven't been on runescape in a little over a year since I felt we the players were being restricted way too much in every aspect of the game. After hearing my little cousin ramble about how the wilderness will return and the trade limit will as well, I didn't believe him. So I decided to check myself. As it turns out, this is true. My only concerns are how long till this update actually takes effect. Also how will you change all the current add ons in the wilderness. As for the trading, I find this to be great news, Higher staking at duel arena again and so many other oppurtinities to make money. If this update happens I will absolutely return to Runescape. I know this is just a game but the adrenaline rush you get when you pk over 5mil is highly missed! :) Runescape i say you continue on with this update, make it happen and dont BS the community about it. I will gladly return too this game thus meaning more money for you! ;)
That is all, have a great day everyone!

My vote is YES! Bring it back, look in all honesty im a level 107 and im no longer a pure warrior. But I existed in the legondary days, and I was somewhat of my own liking. I had so much fun, when there was more to risk, more to gain and more to gamble! I never once cheated, botted, scammed, or misslead anyone. I wish that you could also make the duel arena higher stakes again as well. I use to put my rares, up against someone elses rares, and fight like crazy. That was a real victory, or a hard loss, but it honestly made things alot funner to be able to put yourself on the edge of the seat sort of speak. I know that the ppl running nats in the wildy, and all that will go right back to complaining, but ok... So maybe make it so that theres like 3 worlds that have the LAME MENS wildy. No offence, jaggex I love runescape. I've played since before classic was released, back when classic was just a beta on miniclips. I might only be lvl 107, I might not play every moment, but I know almost everything there is to know. I know that at least for me, the wilderness and freedom to trade whatever I want, would make the game so much more fun with me. I have new friends I would help out, a girlfriend I just got into the game I would love to help with economy, and a lot of things I would plan! My ex owes me a santa hat anyway, So yes, I vote yes.

Wilderness will be good to have back although the trade im not to excited about. The reason i am not happy is because the runescape players or today would still try to invent or find a glitch/loop hole through free trading to another account which they have. i.e i could have 40million gold coins on a level 118 account but today i feel like making a skiller, a level 3 skiller. I no multilog is quite hard but runescape players will find a loop-hole, maybe jagex could just upper the maximum trade limit or invent a piece of software for runescape which does not allow players to trade to a account with the same i.p address. If players, after the update manage to find a loop-hole then they will either have to give another player/friend there personal details or the other way would be to trading a friend then trading your other account. maybe this isnt the best update after all, give me your feed back. + to a jagex mod. if the update happens then will drop trades and swithcing accounts work? if it does work then this sucks and theres no point>

I voted yes without really understanding what it will be like i guess, big mistake.
I don't feel like it helps the RS community by bringing it back, it will only cause trouble.
you will see scamming on the rise and the thought of players
killing other players to rob them of their hard worked for items is not conducive to players getting along and treating one another with respect.
I would like to see more group events to bring people together, not to rip them apart.

To those of which you voted no,
You are wrong. Your perceptions about this game, and the issues surrounding the potential updated, are misguided. This is why.
Botting:
For those who think that botting has in any way decreased as a result of the removal of free trade, you are incredibly wrong. Since Jagex's monumental failure of an update in 2007, I can't hunt chinchompas. I can't train on warriors. I can't mine coal. Why? Jagex has reduced the penalties for botting, an offense that was an automatic permaban becoming more of a slap on the wrist offense. As a result, people will bot to earn gold, combatting bot trade restrictions and the economy completely controlled by player-run groups that are effectively manipulating the failed, dystopian system of trade restrictions and G.E.
The Wilderness:
PKing and staking pre-2007 was what made Runescape different. None of the other major MMORPGS offered a combat system like it, with the potential risks and rewards being limitless. It was completely and utterly fair. You lose what you risk, and you gain what you're able to kill. But in an effort to combat the problem of real world trade, Jagex removes this. Guess what, problem isn't solved. There are still ways for people to transfer items, they're just more painstaking than before. As long as there is incentive to do dishonorable things, they will be done. Removing core parts of the game, effectively alienating large sections of the player base, to combat these problems only allows the perpetrators to win.
Conclusion:
The update in 2007 did not solve anything. The only thing it fixed, was the inflated amount of subscriptions to Runescape. I was one of the subscriptions Jagex lost. However, should this update take place, it may be possible for Jagex to recover some of the face it has lost with veteran players.
