this is making me so angry, im reading so many posts where runescape players are speaking complete nonsense. Im not sure if all of you know this, but the system is much more easy to manipulate now then before. Why do you think there's about 10x as much money in runescape then there was 3 years ago? because theres more players you say? false. theres less players now then before, because of the updates the jagex team instated. You ask, then why is there so much more money? why is the runescape economy ruined, BECAUSE OF THE GRAND EXCHANGE. the grand exchange is the most flawed system i have witnessed in my 6 years of runescape playing. yes it a cool concept, prices according to supply and demand, however its much to easy to manipulate. we all know what a merch clan does? manipulates G.E prices. these people are basically cheating the game, thats not a fair way of making money, id rather bots and scamming over loophole cheaters. wheres old school world 2 fally? where merching actually took some skill? Quite frankly jagex, there should be no question whether free trade and the wilderness should be brought back. it 100% should be. i know hand fulls of people who quit because of the G.E and wilderness update. it devastated the players and the economy. Take free trade out because a couple of kids who dont know how to play the game got scammed? hogwash. BRING IT BACK JAGEX! - i speak for litteraly 90% of the runescape community, to the other 10%... your simply insane. go leave your rubbish comments somewhere else. Thank you Jagex for finally giving the community the opportunity to bring free trade and the wild back.

ok. this is for the people that are complaining because they are getting "scammed". that is your problem. they shouldnt have to BABY proof this game because of your lack of immaturity to realize a scam when you see one. the people that are complaining and whining about being scammed because of "free trade" shouldnt be playing this game. when you created your account they asked you multiple questions that would determine if you are mature enough to play. OBVIOUSLY the people complaining lied about their age in the beggining. jagex shouldnt have to make others suffer for other peoples lack of maturity and knowledge.
THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH YOU JAGEX. YOU GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO BABY PROOF RUNESCAPE. PEOPLE ARE QUITTING BECAUSE YOU TOOK THE "FUN" OUT OF RUNESCAPE. STOP SUCKING UP TO THE PEOPLE COMPLAINGING AND MAKE RUNESCAPE FUN AGAIN.

Zaltaz theres more money now than 3 years ago as theres more high level drops like god sword shards,dfs, bandos plate e.t.c sure they all came out in 2007 but less people had them back then they have now had 3 years to kill things and get them.
and also possibly as some people have been playing 3 years longer so they got a 99 a long tiem ago and make money of it
also party hats are worth more now as they consdiered rare as less people have them its belivied a lot of people with them quit thought this may not be true which pushes there price up and makes the super rich who collected them and staked them back in the day even richer.

the grand exchange ruined the economy and the over all bargaining and fun in trade.
REMOVE THE GRAND EXCHANGE
JAGEX, YOU SHOULDVE THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT YOU WERE PUTTING IN THIS, now ruined, game.
YOU SHOULDVE MADE A BETA FOR THE G.E BEFORE YOU MADE IT A PERMANENT THING.

fred up you make valid points, but im sorry to inform you that theres no way that party hats could ever be worth 6B street price because of "better drops" its because of these people who manipulate the G.E and have loads of money because of it. clearly you have not been playing this game for as long as some of us have, and quite frankly dont have the runescape knowledge that few of us have anymore.

I haven't logged onto this game in years, but I am logging in today to give in my 2cents on this update. I quit because in my eyes they RUINED the fun of the game in 2007.
I was a die hard fan of pking and the game in general, back in the 'golden days' of Runescape. There was always so much to do, always something to work for. I loved how prestigious it made you feel being a high level in a certain skill, or having a certain item other players strive for. It was such a simple game, but yet so addicting, fun and fullfilling.
What I thought was so great about the Wilderness was how F-ing RAW it was. If you went into the wild, you had better be prepared to either mess people up or lose whatever items you have on you FOREVER. There was NO getting them back which is why it was fun. It made the game so risky and thrilling. Nothing like seeing a player run in with full ghostly robes & a abby whip skulled.. then out of no where some guy with full Dharoks comes out of no where and kills him in 2 hits. Wilderness is by FAR the greatest PvP system I have ever seen implemented in any MMO.
The fact that they basically took half of the game out with limiting trading by so much was ridiculous. Trading, buying, selling, *taking, making money were all so much fun to do. When you got a new item that you had been working for it felt great.
Also, if you get scammed.. that is your own fault. Live with it. I have been scammed numerous times and it made me learn from my mistakes & not to be stupid.
I am absolutely 100% for this update, and I plan on starting back up because of it. Great decision Jagex, been waiting to hear this news for awhile!

Lava Sword1 the grand exchaged did not ruin the economy large groups of oraginsed merchants put a small dent in it and they could using free trade as well but trust me the economy is no way runined.
and if an item goes to cheap or seems to cost to much you don't buy it merchants dont work.
while they make money there in the rights to buy up stock and sell it for more as long as they stick with the g.e limits of how much yor aloud per day on items.
if thoese limits didnt exist they could buy a lot more stock lol

But I dont agree about the Grand Exchange ruining the game.
Here's why:
The Grand Exchange should have just been a localized spot to free trade. No price limits, no purchase limits. No limits that regular free-trading wouldn't otherwise already have. This make the G.E. useful for (what I like the most) the ability to put in an offer log off for the night or go do something else, and when banking, find out your order completed. Just a nice convenience. :)
