What's crazy is that we're at 90% "yes" even thought thousands of people quit when Free Trade was taken out. That means that the people who are most looking forward to the reversal of the decision won't actually be affected by it. I remember the riots when Free Trade was taken out and I quit when it happened. To me, Runscape just had no appeal unless I could enjoy the same freedoms, if not more, that I had in real life. But hey, I'm just a spoiled American talking here. I just feel sorry for all of the people who quit when Free Trade was taken out because they won't be able to see what it is like now.
Second however, I think the vote is flawed. I think that the voting idea is best because the majority should decide. Even though I'm for the reversal, I don't want to force my desires upon others. I simply want the majority of players to be happy and enjoy this. After all, it is just a game. Unfortunately, many people did not realize how they were voting at first, and this troubles me. No one wants to see their vote wasted, let alone turned against them. Also, this vote resembles a house bill to me. It's all put into one big sum, either free trade and all this other stuff, or no free trade and all this other stuff. There is one main point, but we get a lot of "pork," or excess stuff that players may not like. How about setting each different aspect of the vote up for grabs?
For example:
Bring back free trade--- Yes No
Revert back the wilderness--- Yes No
Get rid of the Grand exchange--- Yes No
Items drop on death--- Yes No
etc.
etc.
One big yes or no is simply too restrictive. For example, I want free trade, but I don't like the gravestones. I want people to be able to pick up my items if I die, not for them to be wasted.
Overall, I like the idea of voting, but I think Jagex is going about it in the wrong way.
