Santa, he actually had a valid point. You're attempt to belittle him just makes you come across as both arrogant and ignorant.
I too seem to remember a vast number of players playing at that time, but the point that the world capacity wouldn't allow 1m users on at a time is a valid one.
Over the course of a day however, may be different.

zXsantaXz9 they do know thats what pickign a world is meant to be each world represents a country then some represent activites
they used to all jsut respresent countrys or locations to be more exact
and the 2 london server's was always bloody full so i had to play in canada/torontos as it was always empty lol

okay that makes more sense zXsantaXz9 and im willing to except they had 1 million log in's a day.
thought im still intrested where does it tell you how many people have played a day? as someone said only 180k have played today?

I haven't logged onto this game in years, but I am logging in today to give in my 2cents on this update. I quit because in my eyes they RUINED the fun of the game in 2007.
I was a die hard fan of pking and the game in general, back in the 'golden days' of Runescape. There was always so much to do, always something to work for. I loved how prestigious it made you feel being a high level in a certain skill, or having a certain item other players strive for. It was such a simple game, but yet so addicting, fun and fullfilling.
What I thought was so great about the Wilderness was how F-ing RAW it was. If you went into the wild, you had better be prepared to either mess people up or lose whatever items you have on you FOREVER. There was NO getting them back which is why it was fun. It made the game so risky and thrilling. Nothing like seeing a player run in with full ghostly robes & a abby whip skulled.. then out of no where some guy with full Dharoks comes out of no where and kills him in 2 hits. Wilderness is by FAR the greatest PvP system I have ever seen implemented in any MMO.
The fact that they basically took half of the game out with limiting trading by so much was ridiculous. Trading, buying, selling, staking, making money were all so much fun to do. When you got a new item that you had been working for it felt great.
Also, if you get scammed.. that is your own fault. Live with it. I have been scammed numerous times and it made me learn from my mistakes & not to be stupid.
I am absolutely 100% for this update, and I plan on starting back up because of it. Great decision Jagex, been waiting to hear this news for awhile!

wait hold on a second jagex say that 1.4 million people voted for wildenress on the same day which started this vote? so that surely means we had at least 1.4 million people online that day ?

Just as it is not our fault that you are too lazy to word your own posts properly. You claimed there would be "10 x more" people on right now, given that would make 1.5 million it is easy to see why Fred got confused.
Further to that, the forums are a complete minority compared to the actual amount on the game. Very few users use the forums relative to the game.

so your point is we had 1 million people in 2007 on the game and forums and thats more than we have now
however we had 1.4 million people put there name in on the same day?
so that means we had 400k more users log in on one day this december than in 2007?

ok. this is for the people that are complaining because they are getting "scammed". that is your problem. they shouldnt have to BABY proof this game because of your lack of immaturity to realize a scam when you see one. the people that are complaining and whining about being scammed because of "free trade" shouldnt be playing this game. when you created your account they asked you multiple questions that would determine if you are mature enough to play. OBVIOUSLY the peaple complaining lied about their age in the beggining. jagex shouldnt have to make others suffer for other peoples lack of maturity and knowledge.
THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH YOU JAGEX. YOU GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO BABY PROOF RUNESCAPE. PEOPLE ARE QUITTING BECAUSE YOU TOOK THE "FUN" OUT OF RUNESCAPE. STOP SUCKING UP TO THE PEOPLE COMPLAINGING AND MAKE RUNESCAPE FUN AGAIN.
