Idk if any of these have already been posted but here's my 2 bobs worth as a Barrows freak (I have been refered to by clan members as a Barrows junky) -
1) Don't always rely on food for healing. If you are able to, use such things as Guthans armour set effect or blood spells amongst others.
2) WEAR A RING OF WEALTH!!! You may or may not remember when the RoW had no effect on Barrows loot but now that it does you should definitely wear one unless you are a beginner and need to wear a RoL. There is always the choice of switching rings once you are ready to loot the chest.
3) Provided the new update has not ruined this ability, it is possible to stand right next to a melee brother while fighting him without taking any damage for a few seconds. Simply use any of the Ancients Ice spells (Barrage preferably) and then take one step to the side so that the Brother is facing you diagonally and then use a spell or Black Salamander on him.
4) If you get lost in the tunnels after looting the chest you can find your way out easily by always turning left. This principle can be used in most mazes to find the exit.
5) Creature kill count does NOT increase your chances of gaining Barrows items. It simply and only slightly increases your chances of getting better junk loot. The general belief is that a player should kill the same amount of creatures as there are brothers. So If you are going to kill seven brothers you should not waste your time and resources killing any more than seven creatures. I know of successful Barrow experts who do not bother killing any creatures at all unless they need to for health restoration purposes.
6) Believe it or not but Karil is relatively vulnerable to Magic attacks despite the combat triangle. I often start him with a melee spec and/or poison weapon and then finish him off with a Black Salamander or magic spell.

7) Do not underestimate the usefulness of a Black Salamander. It may not be as powerful as a CLS but in the long run, combined with other resources, it proves much more reliable.
8) The best tip I can give to anyone is to experiment. Try out a few different known methods to see which one suits you the most and then play around with it. Then simply keep tweeking your method till you have refined it to ultimate efficiency. By doing exactly that I managed to develop a method which allows me to loot 80+ chests (at minimum cost) before having to bank.
Good luck in your Barrowing adventures. Feel free to come and post on my strange & epic barrow loots thread. ^_^
P.S. tip: Don't forget your spade. It should be the first thing you get out of your bank before heading to Barrows. If you should happen to get there without a spade the Old Man will sell you one for about 4gp. <------------- Well, it seems developers have made a fool of my last tip as you no longer need to bring a spade. rofl at myself!

My best advice for the Barrows activity would have to be:
1: If you melee, which I enjoy doing, bring around 10-12 prayer pots and about 10 monkfish if your level 95-, it'll easily get you around 2 or 3 trips if you have 42 prayer.
2: Make sure you do "In search of the myreque" and "in aid of the myreque" so you can have a somewhat close bank nearby. I've done this, and it really does help a bunch.
*Side note:
There's a certain order that's best for the brothers, and it's as follows:
1: Dharok, N.E. mound.
2: Verac, N.W. mound.
3: Karil, S. mound.
4: Guthan, S.E mound.
5: Torag, S.W mound.
6: And Ahrim (The easiest in my opinion), the middle mound.
If you follow these and other tips, you're bound to be the "Bane of the Brothers". Hehe. :)
That is
enough

1) If you plan on doing multiple runs at barrows, bring excalibur as a special weapon for a nice defense bonus. If you've completed the hard Seers' Village tasks, it also heals a total of 200 LP over time. if you've finished the elite Seers' Village tasks, it heals a total of 400. :D
2) If you're maging at barrows, instead of using a lot of blood and death runes barraging repeatedly, just barrage once to keep the brothers in place and use the polypore attack to save some coin. Still very effective, but also very efficient. :P

If your budget allows it, use a cannon! Whether you drag it to every tomb or leave it in a single one (between Verac and Akrisae being my favorite), kills are sped up and the trip is lengthened! However, leave it behind while entering the crypts as its extreme weight will surely slow you down!

1: Memorize the puzzle answers for the doors in the middle. The answers are always the same for each question, so if you commit them to memory, you can instinctively click on the answer and save having to fight the creature attacking you if you're fast enough.
2: The layout of the tunnels is in the form of a 3x3 square of rooms; the corners connected to each other by the outer tunnels. Remember you will always start off in a corner when entering the tunnels. If you go through a door and it's not a thin corridor, then approach the middle doors in the room with three sets. If it's not openable, move your mouse through the room and detect which doors are openable. Then you can use the outer tunnels to skip many of the doors (preventing an encounter) and speed your way through.

Use spells which are relatively cheap to cast but effective such as Slayer Dart with you best melee armour, the magic defence bonuses of Dharok, Torag, Guthan and Verac negate the negative Magic Attack bonuses of your melee armour, then using a whip with the same equipment against Karil and Ahrim will make your runs go much smoother!
Use this general method for runs, Drink 1 Dose of Super Defence potion before you begin, then Fight Verac, once you return to the surface drink a dose of prayer potion and attack Karil while using Protect from Ranged, return to the surface to Fight Dharok using any remaining prayer points to use protect from melee, if you are nervous drink another dose of prayer potion as you get low, but if you are using magic against him you should take him out fast enough that you defence boost from the Super Defence will propel you through the fight after prayer runs out and you will take minimal damage, afterwords kill Torag and Guthan using prayer if your defence is relatively low, lastly go into Ahrim's crypt and kill him using protect from magic and you may need to use a restore potion after fighting him.
