me wantz this.
man it sounds awsome. 500 pages of ownage!
to mantismaniac: listen, in fantasies armour with special powers is often really rare. i agree with you on addy and rune + fire spell, but every1 having mystical red weapons that cast strange auras when they attack? cool in a game, but not in a book. btw, remember that these are the white knights, most of wich who run round in somfink equivilant to bronze (short version: there noobs.)

i love reading books. but reading a book based on a video game i thought was extremely nerdy. but i went ahead and bought it anyways because ive been playing runescape for so long. :P
i loved the book. it had a pretty good story line. it dident put everything into modern day runescape which kinda gave me the old feeling of runescape that we all miss so much.
but of course, i have to ask one thing.. make another book pl0x <3. :)

Honestly, I love this book.
It has the feeling of old Runescape and is full of great plot. Its the only reason i'm fishing on Runesacpe. So I can do something while I read the book and I hate reading O_O.

I ordered the book a couple months ago from the jagex online store. I enjoyed the book, the storylne was a bit "busy" with alot of characters stories being told all in a short span. I really enjoyed the whole cast of characters. I will deffanitly buy a sequil.
Thanks for a great read.

I recently just received the book in the mail, and was fortunate enough to spend the last five days reading it passionately and engaging in the Theodore's many adventures, thoughts, and actions. When I first received this book, my face lit up with excitement, happiness, and pure form of joy that I had only encountered before during a major celebration - such as my birthday.
I ordered it from the Jagex Online Store, and was surprised to receive sooner than I expected, not to mention, to discover that it was packaged with pride by "Kathy!". I assume this is an employee from Jagex who took her time to package my book with care.
Thank you very much, Kathy ^_^ .
The book itself, is very interesting, and not only is the cover of it visually appealing, but the entire core of the book - along with its storyline, elaborate wording, and interesting personalities - has truly exceeded all of my expectations this book, that too in prodigious lengths.
I rather not spoil the storyline for you, however, so far in the novel my favourite character happens to be Ebenezer, an elderly alchemist who happens to love science and thinks like a unique individual. Also, the entire novel is full of interesting, unique, and elaborate adventures, not to mention, performs splendidly in the first chapter alone. It also surprised me how accurate, in terms of RuneScape, the book was, not to mention, how interesting each character was throughout the entire course of the novel.
I believe this is without a doubt Tom S. Church's magnum opus.
I definitely will look forward to a sequel, although I am not aware whether or not there will be one, it seems like Betrayal at Falador is suitable for a sequel in all respects.
I would like to thank Tom S. Church for making such a fantastic novel, and Jagex for supporting the novel as a whole.
I strongly advise any of you interested in this book to purchase it and savour it thoroughly. It definitely is not something to be missed!

Hey guys,
When I first discovered a book about runescape I didn't think very much of the idea, but the amount of research and way in which someone can take runescape and make it their own indiviual setting, and then design your own story within that setting got me thinking.
I'm a keen reader, I read as much as I play runescape (and I play a lot >.&gt ;) I'm also about to begin a degree in english and creative writing next year...
If I were to write a decent book over the next couple of years set in gielinor would I get the same amount of support that T.S Church has? I really think I could have a good attempt myself :) How would I go about getting in touch with jagex and is it worth trying?
Anyway- I haven't readthe book yet but when i do I will edit this post. :) (I'm hoping it is similar to "eragon&quot ;)

I got the book as a Christmas gift last year and I have read it several times.
My absolute favourite thing about the book is that Gielinor is a much bigger world in the book. Mr T.S Church made an amazing job on this and I like almost everything about it.
The battles are very well described. (The final battle held me up until late at night to read.)
Another very nice thing about the world Gielinor in the book is that everyone is very human. Teleportation is extremely advanced magic, many people have never even heard of Adamanite and werewolves are mostly fairy tales. It makes Gielinor a very real yet good fantasy world.
I give it 8 Happy faces out of 10

I had the chance to read the book recently, and I can say i was impressed. It was much better than i thought it would be. However, some of the inconsistencies bugged me... Like npc's having horses when players have been denied them for so long. Or the people of fallador never hearing of addy. I find that hard to belive with all the adventurer traffic thu it, on just about any f2p world you'll find a person wearing addy in fally. What I DID like about what you did with addy is that it could break steel weapons without much effort, I always thought this would be the case with higher level metals.
Overall, It was a pretty good read.
