In answer to Orbmaster44:

"3. How has your RuneScape character been progressing in relation to the books? What level do you think he'll be by the end of the trilogy, and do you think your exposure to higher-level content will affect the books in any way?"

Alas my RuneScape character has fallen behind slightly as I have not had enough time to play (I have been busy writing). I have not revealed my user ID as it would mean I would not be able to visit the places I plan to use in the books. And I have a question for you . . . what makes you think it will be trilogy?

In answer to Silver:

"Hmm, add me pl0x?!

On a more serious note, what exactly is the difference between the new version and the old version of the book?

- Silver"

Hi Silver. Good question. The new version has benefited from the eye of a professional editor who has considerable experience in the fantasy genre (he's done work for Greg Keyes and David Gemmell). The story is still the same however though it has been tightened up. As I've said before, I would be interested in hearing what others think of the difference though - for me it's a case of being too close to the project where I can't see the wood from the trees!

Hi GripHilt:

"Have the errors, such as the misspelling of Taverley, been fixed in the new edition?"

That error in particular has been rectified you will be pleased to know.

In answer to DobbelB:

"-Did you play RS yourself, to make sure nothing interferes with the RS lore?
-Did you invent the new lore yourself?
-Or were you just given a plot, and access to the details of the setting, and they you had to write about it?"

I do play RS myself and have since 2006.
The new ideas and lore were my own originally and then modified/removed to ensure they fitted in with Jagex cannon. That is one of the reasons the timing of the book is set in 164 - 5 years before the player enters the game to ensure that any later updates would not clash too much with the books.

In answer to Josh1391:

"2. have you ever posted in the Runescape stories forum if so was it nice to hear peoples feedback without them knowing who you where?"

I have not submitted anything to the forums as yet though I have read the entries with interest. There is a great deal of good stuff in there.

Good evening Moltres Xd - in answer to your question:

"Hey,

Loved the book and can't wait for the sequel in February. (I believe)

My question is, Will we ever see a romantic relationship between Kara and Theodore? Maybe in the sequel or any future sequels. It was hinted at in Betrayal at Falador."

The romantic tension is present between Kara and Theodore from their first meeting onward. This continues throughout the sequel though it is also complicated by the presence of Gar'rth, but between all there are suspicions and slight mistrust. Who knows where it will go?

In answer to Crookshanksl:

"Is 'Return to Canifis' going to have the same characters, or completely different story with different characters?"

The same characters will appear: Kara, Theodore, Gar'rth and Ebenezer as long as Castimir and Arisha. This time the action shifts to Varrock as a starting point however, so there are new characters.

Hi Avril 68:

"1. Will the book come out in german, if yes, i´ll read it!
2. What was the first thing you thought when 'Betrayal at Falador' was finished?"

1. I would certainly like it to. That is a decision for the publishers however and their Rights departments.
2. A feeling of pride in truth. To hold a finished copy of the hardback in my hands after so much work was great. (This was momentarily ruined however when one of my brothers delightfully informed me that I had spelled canoeing incorrectly in the about the author section!) You live and learn (hopefully!)

In reply to Dark X Nick:

"It seems that the first book is still pertaining mainly to free content. Will the next book deal with possibly more members content? Such as armor and weapons like dragon, bandos, armadyl, or barrows? I loved the book but it seems like it dealt mainly with things that could be achieved by level 50."

You are correct here in that book one was very purposely aimed at free content areas. Book 2, 'Return to Canifis' does expand into members areas (as the name suggests of course).

Also, it's very important to realize that whilst much of the activity in the first book could be done by level 50, this is the novel that introduces the characters, so they still have a long way to go!

In answer to Belp:

"4. What will you write about next, other than the "Return to Canifis Novel?""

I very much hope that you will be pleased to hear that I will be concentrating on RuneScape for a while to come! And in answer to your other question, I do not believe we are friends in RS I'm afraid.
