Like i said in an earlier post i am not mad about the winning Layout i am just upset because i have proof no one viewed the layout i submitted. breaks my heart :/

I don't know about the people who only have 1 view on their video - their own - but I do know that if you don't have views from Great Britain, that doesn't mean they didn't watch it. Because they have an office (and presumably servers) in CA and NY in the USA, too. I thought they hadn't watched my video for the journey competition because there were no view from GB, until I found out/realized the above, and saw the views from CA in the metrics.

Not saying that's the case here, but it's a possibility.
My motto is to be nice if I can, but also to not suffer trolls.

Nobody voted. That's the problem, very few people would be upset with the choice if they had the ability to vote. However a voting system for such a thing can be influenced by One's social status. For example someone with a very large following on twitter would get lots of votes if they requested people to vote for them via Twitter.

Thank you
pyroomaaan
for your post. I do not take these posts personally, I understand they're not aimed at me. The majority does not seem to like the way I designed it, but I also heard from quite a few people here and elsewhere that they do like it and want to use it with a few modifications. And for those who hate it: nothing's changed, you can still use the design you created. :)

Congratulations to both the winner and runner-up! I'm only bothering myself to post here because I wanna say something to everyone who says "my setup is better" or anything similar to that: Isn't that the point of the NIS anyways? You absolutely do not have to use their designs because most likely you'll already have one in mind that perfectly suits your style of gameplay. Now that the competition's over, there's honestly nothing else to be gained from having a design superior [in your mind] to everyone else's, other than gaining maximum comfort when playing RuneScape.

It's actually depressing.

The forum thread is overflowing with negativity, even from players who didn't enter.
The facebook post is flooded with backlash and uninformed nonsense.
The reddit thread received almost universally negative comments, and got downvoted off /r/runescape's front page in a mere couple of hours, to be replaced by a player's post of his alternate layout (which was supposedly never even judged).

Think about that for a sec. This can't just be shrugged off by pointing to sore losers or subjectivity. The winning layout has received a staggering amount of negative feedback from several distinct sources.

It's a complete shift from the attitude going into the competition. Players were optimistic and excited - confident in their layouts and interested to see what other peeps could come up with. Then the results came in, and everything went to hell.

I won't pretend to know what happens behind the scenes, but something blatantly went wrong here. Hopefully future contests won't be marred by this sort of nonsense.
