There's plenty of people with i3's and i5's that are reaching FPS about 5-10 as max on most places in the HTML5 BETA. Myself included. Around when can we expect the HTML5 BETA to be more "playable" for those without top of the line computers? I remember you saying that it would be increasing perfomance to go to HTML5, but this far I haven't noticed anything of that, but much of the opposite.


We have i5s here that run smoothly at 30-60fps on 'medium', so the problems are particular combinations of hardware. We're trying to get to the bottom of this with new PCs we're building at the moment.

RuneScape 3:
-Will the be a beta for all of RuneScape 3 (except any content like Quests)? Like NIS and HTML5 and *The rest?* combined?
-Will the world be stretched out so that there's more forests and roads between villages?


1. There are some other parts of RuneScape 3 that will not be in a test. HTML5 and the NIS will both be in one environment soon

2. This is a much larger question that we will have to address in time

Also I was wondering whether jagex puts as much effort into optimizing the client for AMD/ATI than Intel/Nvidia?


Most of our hardware in the office is Intel/Nvidia combination. We're getting hold of more AMD/ATI hardware to test. We use Intel/Nvidia for our development machines because that's what our PC supplier delivers.

RuneScape HTML5 does not really use any LOD Textures right? Lower resolution textures from afar. And lowered polygon objects aren't there either or are there? Are there any plans for LOD?


Not currently, no. Plans: Yes, given time :)

1) will the max cash stack increase to a larger number, perhaps an even 5 bill instead of the current 2147mill?

2) with the increased draw distance, will the npc/player render distance be increased as well because atm you can only see a person if they are 11 squares away and it looks weird if a whole bunch of npcs suddenly appear. (i understand this might be altered in the wildy due to pking clans but elsewhere it might be a good idea)


1. The stack of cash or any other stackable item will not be changing

2. We have looked at this but one of the main issue blocking this is fairness. We dont want to give a significant advantage to HTML5 over Java in gameplay as the java client still has the limited draw distance

Gielenor does not have the Bass system to support an adequate level of WUB WUB
