I'm currently getting 1 - 9 FPS in the HTML5 game at the moment so do you developers check everyone's computer specs and try to get them to work with the game from the QFC thread below?

QFC: 334-335-809-64910610

We're currently in the process of building different types of PCs based on the performance feedback we're getting. We hope that everyone will be getting decent performance at the end of the beta.

I am just posting this to get faster response. I see you guys fixed miscellania Farm but fisherman Frodi and the castle doors upstairs of Miscellania are still hard to click on in the beta.

We're working on a fix for the click areas at the moment. Hope it will be released soon!

I like being able to use shortcut keys (F1-F5) to access certain parts of the interface quickly and then be able to dismiss them quickly without having to move my cursor across the screen multiple times and without cluttering my screen; this is also useful for quick actions in the middle of combat. Will shortcuts like this be available in the NIS?

Currently the F keys are indeed used to open our new NIS large central interfaces! We are currently doing some tweaks to the keyboard support, but the aim is to eventually have it fully customizable so you'll be able to setup what key open which parent, which abilities (as currently in the live game) and some other action we're in the process of adding shortcuts too, for instance toggling quick prayers.

Will the camera movement work the same as in Runescape 2? (Using the mouse wheel) Because I can't get it to work ever since it first came out.

That is how it wil work but we are looking to add additional control which can be seen in the NIS already

Hey!

Firstly I'd like to say both html5 and nis look great, good work! Although there are few problems with my performance, which I don't know if are connected with my internet connection or pc, which specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i5 @ 2.27GHz, Arrandale 32nm Technology
RAM: 4,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz
Graphics: 2779MB total / 1024MB dedicated GeForce GT 230M

I'm getting no lagg with minimum, decent with few settings on and major lagg with shadows (+ water and bloom). Is this about my pc, or just because it's still in early beta phase?

Secondly, when can we hope to see nis incorporated in html5?

Shadows and water reflections both involve rendering the scene again so will take a bug chunk of your performance. We're working to cut down the hit, but they'll always be more expensive than options like AA and bloom which are post-process effects.

I believe you can sneakily preview the HTML5 client on the NIS beta by attaching ?html5=1 to the end of the page URL, but this option is thoroughly unsupported at the moment :)

Are you able to view NIS setups saved by players?

Not at launch, but we will offer a selection of "best of player submitted" for download through the game!
I am pretty sure there will be a nice community building up around this, sharing their best and coolest setups ;)

Great Job with the Beta and the Alpha thus far! Things seem to be turning out great and I can't wait to continue on the journey with you all! Now I'm genially curious...

1.) The Alpha and HTML5 still hold their own separate servers. At what time could we see these two start to merge, if at all? I would truly love to play around with the Alpha on the actual HTML5... This seems like it would be one of the last steps into production of these two, but I'm still curious.

2.) With the release of Runescape 3, there are bound to be new players eager to get involved. With these new players, will we be seeing an increase in Player Moderators, to help guide them and others on their paths to community involvement?

3.) What has made you want to move forward with the Alpha and HTML5 Jagex? I know you all say it is faster and better, but why call it Runescape 3? Is there something on the horizon that us players aren't aware of yet, that requires this type of system to run? Do future skills/quests need this to run. What is the true point of it all rather than just simple innovation?

I'll see what I can answer here

1. The first test of this will be in the NIS in the next few weeks. if you are in the NIS Alpha keep checking

2. Most probably.

3. Keep watch here. We have a few ideas to change things up. I cant say more

1) When do you update the HTML5 beta? when you've patched enough things to make 1 update batch, or whenever you feel like it? or are there certain update days you're aiming for?

Pretty much as you say, the build process take an hour or so and then another 30 mins or so to push it out to the worlds, so we try and roll up a bunch of fixes all at once to make it worthwhile. Of course, if there's a critical fix we'll turn it around immediately.

Players are definitely free to share screenies, and discuss the best layouts, and in fact we'd love to hear how you prefer to arrange your interfaces in different scenarios!
As to your question, currently there is no direct way to do this, although allowing players to share and load layouts directly is something we've been considering. It's something we would really like to give you guys, but will probably come at some point in the future after the live launch.

Again, this may or may not get answered because it's not particularly about the beta, but I had a question about some of the event items recently released.

The starfire/fury bow, and the rose wand and heart only have decent stats up to level 60. I understand that there are expensive high level items you don't want to completely displace, but if you are going to add awesome cosmetics to functional weapons, then why make them virtually useless in combat? The dark bow, not only has higher stats, but shoots two arrows.

The Rose wand has low stats compared to other available wands that aren't even expensive.

I would appreciate if you added either "purchasable" higher level upgrades (70, 80, and 90) with prices comparable to the items you're worried about replacing, to make these items worth using, OR, just give us higher upgrades even if they are slightly lower than other available items.

with the weapons that you can upgrade over time we have tried to find a balance between the benefit of a weapon that you can continue to use as you progress through the game and the need for you to go explore the other items in the game.

We feel that at around level 60 you are at a point where you can go out and find new weapons with confidence.
