HTML 5
1.) Currently I’m under the impression that HTML 5 will negatively affect bots in some ways. Can you give a little more information about this, but in a way which does not give any help to the bot developers? Will we notice significant differences in their numbers in game?
2.) Could writing the game for
both
HTML 5 and Java affect how soon we get updates? Would we still be getting the same frequency and quality of updates (if not, higher quality), what with HTML 5 now being coded for
in addition to
Java?
New Interface
1.) Will we be able to have counters on our action bars for consumables that have been put on there, such as food, potions etc?
2.) How do you intend the number of action bars to work for free players and members? In the current, live game, only action bar number 1 can be used in an F2P world, regardless of whether or not you’re a member. As a member, you have access to more bars on member’s worlds. It would be nice to be able to select a fixed action bar
other than bar 1
for use on an F2P world and not be able to switch it until you go back to a P2P world.
That way members aren’t restricted to having to alter their primary bar (#1) when on an F2P world and can choose which bar number to keep dedicated to F2P only. This is easier than having to edit bar #1 when you switch between worlds and want to engage in different activities (e.g. F2P combat).
3.) Can you let us know if you will be inviting additional players to the alpha and beta in batches, or based on individual cases over time?
General Beta + Alpha Process Questions
1.) Is it possible to be invited to both testing opportunities before they go live to all members?
2.) How will you be selecting additional players to participate in the alpha and beta?
3.) Can you send both e-mails and inbox messages to people who get selected for early testing before it opens to all members? Inbox messages would be nice.
HTML5
1. We are not targeting bots with the HTML5 release though it may have some side effects that will impact them
2. The game content is scripted in a way that it is read by both the Java client and the HTML5 client without significant differences. In that way while there may be some impact in the time it takes us to develop content it should be negligible
New Interface
I'll do my best to address these in Mod_Zs absense
1. Possibly
2. This is not something we can address currently
3. We will invite players in batches
General
1. If you have registered for the test program then there is a chance
2. We look at machine specs, playtime and level distributions to get a good spread of experience
3. We will be sending both types so yes!
