Popped in on a whim again, and... this thread amused me greatly. It's great to see people keep on keeping on because that's worked,
right
? I'm a defeatist. I left. I'm four years gone.
For those of you that don't know or remember me, that's fine. That's fine. Tl;dr, I started in 2012, so I missed the "good old days" in a community that spends most of its time looking back.
In the world of RSRP, I regularly spent my time with smaller groups... outside looking in, as it were... and that offered me perspective on the rare occasions I chanced wading through the metaphorical pond scum to test the water. I felt unclean. Especially whenever I brushed up against any of the cliquey bullshit that's
baked
into the very nature of this community.
Although I agree with the OP on what's wrong, what needs to be done, I do not share their optimism. There's been no real effort to deal with grievances. They're aired, and then nothing happens except more tribalism, ostracism and immaturity.
(Also, Juan, I disagree. Compared to what I remember, the number of cliques seem to have coalesced into fewer but more divergent groups.)
I give the OP real credit, but I don't see the point. You lot are stuck in your ways.
