Great Bar RP today, thank you to everyone that showed up but especially Sync who put in a brilliant performance as one of the first victims to succumb to Xau Tak's growing influence on Varrock.

It is also a good opportunity to announce our next event

A Plague in the City

When: Ongoing
Where: Lower slums of Varrock
What: The first recorded incident occurred in the Blue Moon Inn but it wasn't the last. Scores of people have been reporting falling ill of the same strange affliction, most show only symptoms of plague but a small handful have mutated in one way or another. The crown would respond by immediately placing the affected streets into quarantine while they attempted to determine the source and find a cure.

Barricades have been built across every street along the perimeter of the quarantine and guards posted to ensure that it is enforced. Food a supplies will be delivered into the districts to ensure that the people do not starve. However with the area sealed off and much of the gangs sealed inside, some may see opportunity rather than tragedy. "The greatest endeavors are achieved because of their selfless intent"

A letter addressed to King James the Second arrived by courier. On this letter there was an ornate and noble wax seal.

I, Ines Voux, hereby write to his Royal Highness, King James the Second. I have become aware that the present duke of Lumbridge has let the land stagnate. Crop yields falling, workers in the area become lazy and aloof, and worst of all the Duchy not generating proper wealth for His Highness's coffers. I have been around such a place for a long time. I'd hate to see such land fall into utter disarray. It is why I have wrote you this letter, My King, to offer myself in service to you and Misthalin. I would be more than happy to come in-person to swear absolute fealty to you. Of myself and all of my kin. I simply wish to be in service to ensure this great Kingdom prospers.

A letter addressed to the king arrived by courier. As opposed to the paper used by most civilized kingdoms, the document was instead written upon parchment. A wax seal kept its contents hidden, though it seemed that the seal was crude at best, without any sort of intricate design nor emblem.

The town of Edgeville is but an outpost, a fearful settlement fated to be the last bastion of civilization before one transgresses into the desolate north. They live in fear, every day of their lives as they wonder whether the rotting undead shall crawl from the ash and lay waste to all that they know.

They demand a leader, one who can look after them without the heavy burden that is the crown of Misthalin. I provide a solution to this problem.

The courier that carried the letter to the palace was asked to deliver a reply back to the author of the original letter. It was written on parchment and marked with the royal seal of Misthalin.

I do not judge you for your origins or the path your life has taken thus far as it is not so very different from my own. For most of my adult life I too have walked the ashlands, surviving the Wilderness and all of its horrors. There I led a warband in the service of my god Armadyl and what little solace I could find in that place was in those few natives like yourself that dreamed of a better future. And much like you I too felt the call to come south and take charge when all the southern kings in Misthalin seemed to have abandoned their duty.

I accept your proposal with great enthusiasm. Please present yourself to the royal court of Misthalin at Varrock Palace on the 8th of this month so that you may pledge your allegance to this nation and be officially named Countess of Edgeville.
