The Return of The Red Axe

Continuing with the other half of the group, a large number of dwarven civilians were turned into chaos dwarves and started attacking, the group would attack, defending the civilians. The battle was long, but a bit easy. While these turned dwarf hit hard, they were still civilians. After defeating a good chunk of them, black guards reinforcement would finally arrive and help deal with the remaining chaos dwarves.

Those who were split up would reunite with the others and catch up, sharing what they learned before the Chaos Dwarves attacked. Revealing to everyone that the Red Axe have returned. Once they arrived to the city, they would report this to commander Bisi, who already knew this. Bisi, some higher ranking Black Guards and The Consortium knew of this already, but decided to keep it from public knowledge to avoid a panic, but this caused a different result. The dwarves would believe the H.A.M to be behind this and give panic reports on a human or would harass them.

Bisi would tell the group to rest in a Inn for now, while he speaks to the Consortium on allowing the Bane-Bringers to help, considering they know the truth. The group would rent a room in the King's Axe Inn, waiting for Bisi to call them.

The Return of The Red Axe

After approximately two days, the Bane-Bringers received a summons to the palace, where they were to address the Consortium and make a compelling case for their assistance. Deliberating on the most persuasive approach, they reflected on their successful handling of the train incident, deeming it a strong foundation for their argument. Upon entering the throne room, they were greeted by the presence of Commander Bisi and Siwa, alongside the seated directors, their undivided attention now fixed upon the group. With the weight of the moment upon them, one of the Bane-Bringers skillfully persuaded the Consortium to allow them to render their services at a reduced cost, highlighting the cost-effectiveness of employing adventurers and ensuring that the Consortium would not be held liable for any unforeseen circumstances.

The Bane-Bringers' convincing plea won the favor of the Consortium, who granted them permission to collaborate with the Black Guards in combating the Red Axe threat. However, the Consortium emphasized the utmost importance of maintaining secrecy throughout the operation. In a private meeting with Commander Bisi, the group was reminded to avoid any actions that might arouse suspicion, as most citizens erroneously believed that H.A.M. was behind the attacks, making them potential targets. Bisi noted that the two Icyene members of the group would be particularly persuasive in dispelling this erroneous notion. Subsequently, the group divided into three teams, each assigned to investigate the attacks and uncover potential patterns that could aid in predicting future incidents.

The first search led them to the latest crime scene prior to the train incident, located in the eastern section of the palace near the esteemed bread stall. There, they discovered a necklace emitting a faint residue of arcana energy. Further examination revealed that the necklace originated from a gem stall located approximately

30 feet away. Moving on, they delved into the records and discovered evidence of a human presence at the previous crime scene, though no remains were found. Additionally, there had been a mining-related cave-in within the city, resulting in the transformation of workers into Chaos Dwarves. The guards assigned to investigate the area were forced to retreat due to an unusual and toxic presence that affected them. Just as they were about to depart, they noticed a disguised gnome attempting to clandestinely peruse the reports. Their attempt to apprehend the gnome was interrupted by a sudden turn of events.

Lastly, the group decided to focus their search on Veldaban, a prominent figure and former king within the Black Guards. Initially hesitant, Veldaban was eventually swayed by the group's persuasive argument, as they reminded him of his past as a king and guardian of the people. Veldaban then led the group to an area he believed would be of value to their investigation. They navigated perilous terrain, evading cave-ins, negotiating treacherous gaps, and avoiding feral Chaos Dwarves until they arrived at the Red Axe's former stronghold, Hreidagrim. To their astonishment, the entire area was teeming with Chaos Dwarves, ranging from warriors to ordinary citizens.

The Return of The Red Axe

As events unfolded, the group bore witness to the construction of menacing machines under the guidance of the Chaos Druids. Their investigations unveiled a startling revelation—the mastermind behind the resurgent Red Axe faction was none other than Lord Hatch. They discovered that the Red Axe had received substantial resources from an unidentified benefactor, adding another layer of mystery to the unfolding crisis. Once all members of the group were briefed and brought up to speed, they tactfully withdrew from the scene and returned to Commander Bisi to relay their findings.

In a shocking revelation, they learned that the captive gnome they had apprehended was, in fact, an ally hailing from Arposandra. Tragically, the emissary from Arposandra had perished during one of the previous attacks. Furthermore, it came to their attention that the man in the blue robes, previously presumed dead, was alive and held crucial knowledge pertaining to the nature and capabilities of the machines being constructed. Just as they were on the cusp of formulating a strategic plan to counter the impending threat, chaos erupted once more as the attack was unleashed with full force.

The machines materialized within the city through teleportation, disorienting and alarming the defenders. In a series of coordinated strikes, Lord Hatch announced the triumphant return of the Red Axe, vowing to reclaim the legacy that had supposedly been stolen from their grandfather. The activated machines facilitated the teleportation of Chaos Dwarves into the heart of the city, instigating a devastating conflict that involved both the brutal slaying of innocent civilians and their subsequent transformation into mindless abominations.

The quest no longer requires you yo do it with a partner, you're able to do it without help, look at the Guide in the RS Wiki,

P.S This is the wrong place to ask for help.

The Return of The Red Axe

The group would split up to help the city fight against the invading army. The battle was fierce and long, injuring the majority of the group as they fight against a large number of Chaos Dwarves. Despite victory looking nearly impossible, they managed to defeat all of the Chaos Dwarves and destroy the machine that was brought in. When they went back to report to Commander Bisi, they learn that their other comrades were ambushed during the conflict, where one was kidnapped by the Chaos Dwarves. After three days, they learned that the Chaos Dwarves have moved to a different location, but they managed to find a camp.

While not the actual settlement, this camp acted as a first settlement to try and turn the Dwarves they kidnapped into Chaos Dwarves. Bisi tasked the group to destroy the camp via a cave-in, collapsing the ceiling to at least destroy that settlement, weaken their number and the means to convert dwarves. Bisi made it clear that even the hostages must be sacrificed, and if the group wishes to attempt to save them, they are alone on it, and should they take to long to report back, he'll send his own men to finish the job.

The group agreed to this, heading towards the camp through a shortcut. Once arrived, they made note at the number of Chaos Dwarves and Druids, believing it be best to sneak around before doing anything. After scouting the camp, the group made an aggressive rescue mission, using teleporting means, they would rescue as much as they can before collapsing the ceiling and retreating into a much longer path.

Saving 18/30 of the hostages, including Siwa, they now travel a three day cave system back to Keldagrim.

The Return of The Red Axe

During their arduous three-day journey, the group skillfully guided the hostages through treacherous caverns, deftly avoiding a myriad of natural traps that lay in their path. As they ventured forth, their vigilant eyes caught sight of a lurking creature up ahead, prompting them to alter their course and maintain the safety of their charges. Sensing the urgency to recuperate and replenish their energy, they wisely decided to establish a well-protected camp, where they could rest undisturbed for the ensuing eight hours.

As the final night watch approached, the creatures in question gradually drew nearer, but the group adeptly evaded their vigilant pursuit, granting themselves invaluable time to gather essential supplies and prepare for the continuation of their mission. Buoyed by their meticulous planning, they embarked on a reconnaissance mission, venturing ahead to scout the vicinity, and to their surprise, stumbled upon a secluded encampment occupied by Chaos Dwogres—a faction whose numbers were almost equal to their own.

Recognizing the potential risk such an encounter could pose to the innocent civilians they were entrusted to protect, the group formulated a cunning strategy to navigate stealthily through the settlement, opting for a path that would circumvent any confrontation that might endanger the lives of those under their care. By a hair's breadth, they narrowly evaded detection, successfully escorting the hostages to a place of safety and finally arriving at the sanctuary of Keldagrim.

In recognition of their remarkable achievements, Commander Bisi bestowed upon the group a well-deserved reward for their unwavering commitment in accomplishing the primary objective of their mission—the safeguarding of the hostages.

The Return of The Red Axe

After enduring four days of inactivity, the Bane-Bringers felt compelled to approach Commander Bisi for answers. To their dismay, they were informed that the Consortium had terminated their employment due to concerns about their moral compass jeopardizing the city's safety. Despite the severed ties and the absence of any potential rewards, the group remained resolute in their commitment to aid the city. Undeterred, they unanimously agreed to embark on a journey to Taverley, seeking the wisdom of the druids in unraveling the secrets of the Chaos Druids.

Following a week-long train ride, the Bane-Bringers arrived in Taverley, where they sought an audience with Kaqemeex and Thaerisk, two esteemed druids. These knowledgeable individuals informed them of the dwindling numbers of Chaos Druids within the Taverley dungeon. With their interest piqued, the group connected with Aingeal, a trusted ally of Gwyn, who graciously offered to guide them through the perilous dungeon. Navigating treacherous terrain and eluding dangerous creatures and other Chaos Druids, the Bane-Bringers eventually reached a sacred ritual site. Unfortunately, they were too late, and an intense battle against a summoned Chaos Elemental ensued.

The clash was protracted and arduous, pushing the group to the brink of defeat. However, their resilience prevailed as they devised a cunning plan to vanquish the Elemental by triggering a controlled collapse of the ceiling, effectively neutralizing the formidable foe. With their victory came newfound knowledge: their next destination lay on the continent of Zeah, where the remaining Chaos Druids were said to be hiding. Determined to uncover the truth and put an end to the chaos, the Bane-Bringers set their course for Zeah, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
