It was far but he had spent many months watching the horizon now; he developed his eagle eyes and perhaps this was the ultimate challenge, perhaps this was the only ship he would see before too many years would pass and he would be drove insane. He took all the runes he had and brought the ship to the island, and through his desperation, he created a hurricane, larger than he ever had before, it almost tore the ship apart but as it crashed onto the island, he climbed aboard, ran past all who were aboard and to the crow's eye, he controlled the hurricane, eventually settling it down and he became a hero to these men. His hair had turned white and he was rewarded back in Lumbridge by the noble men he had saved and King there, even given the ship he had saved, it was a fast vessel used for getting important people across the seas with a few cannons – he needed just a small crew for The Hurricane.

Appearance: Never seen without her tattered hooded robes nearly double her size wrapped tightly around her petite slumped figure, Mel could easily be distinguished as the local beggar or madwoman. The robes do well to hide her scrawny body forever grimy and dirt-smeared with her inky hair hanging in messy uneven clumps around her head and neck. However, she dons the robe to hide her more revolting features rarely seen by anyone who even bothers sparing a glance at her face should it be exposed. Prominent scars from stitches and other wounds line much of her skin and even across one hollow eye socket, sewn shut forever leaving only one good eye in the hue of the ocean sunken and always bearing the gaze of a cornered animal.

Personality: To the few who even acknowledges her presence, Mel does not seem to have a definite personality on a given day. Days would pass where Mel would spend her hours silently hunched and unmoving on one spot presumably watching all the passersby. Other times, Mel would be wailing in terror along the outer edges of the town running from an invisible pursuer. There are also rare occasions of Mel just contentedly hanging around a deserted alleyway or by the coast humming random melodies to herself with a voice, though raspy, bearing faint traces of that of a trained singer. Despite all this strange behavior, she had never been known to commit any crimes and would usually avoid any sort of contact.

Strengths: Despite her poor build, Mel is known to be very quick on her feet to the few who pursued her for whatever reason. Years of wandering the underbelly of the port also allowed her to navigate through hidden paths she had made or discovered.

Brief History: Not much is known of her life besides common knowledge (and because of planned plotlines).

Prefered storylines: Adventure and Mystery mainly but could bend other ways if possible.

I have a storyline in the works concerning Mel and any few interested characters but for now, she'll be fine just being your local tramp. If any of you guys feel like including her to your storyline, you're welcome to leave a message here or in the game whenever I'm online.

I have no justification on the matter so I won't be able to say whether you're accepted or not but, I think that's a pretty good application, it has the potential to be a good character - though there are a few flaws. The biggest is the history (or lack of) though you could get away with that once you've explained to Dastan what your character's story will be. You need to take into account, however, there are currently too many stories ready to take place in A Region of Tales and your character's won't be a priority, and, because of the nature of your character, I don't imagine you'd be heavily involved with what's going on unless the character had motivation to join in.

I have that perfectly in mind so don't worry. I designed that character to not really be involved with much of the region for both IC and OOC reasons. Unless any of your characters are involved with Port Sarim's lower class (charity work, organized crime, etc) or are interested with her own plotline, then she will just be around being the usual beggar and such. As for OOC reasons, I'm mainly on World 42 so I won't be able to do long rps in 41 basically unless I'm not occupied. I'll also have a talk with this Dastan person when I see him. Cheers!

Profession: Combat-trainer for hire/Blacksmith, Used to be a sellsword before retirement.

Appearance: 6'3" tall, weighing 340lbs. Has medium-long grey hair, a short grey beard and green eyes. Due to his former profession, which required him to be in good condition he is decently to well-muscled, often either seen in armor or simple clothing.

Personality: Calm, friendly and observant.

Strengths:
-Strength: Fenn is reasonably strong, strong enough to wield his personal weapon (Which is a hand-and-a-half sword) in one hand along with his shield in the other with minimal effort.

-Blacksmith: Fenn is born from a family line of blacksmiths, and thus has picked up the art of blacksmithing from tradition. Whilst he has not followed his fathers line of work early in his life he still carried the knowledge he learned to both create his own equipment as well as maintaining it.

-Experience: Fenn has had enough combat in his lifetime to be able to teach others a thing or two about combat, and thus has been helping people out by putting himself for hire as a teacher or trainer of sorts.

Brief History: Fenn Linford was born from a line of blacksmiths has been raised essentially with a sword in hand, having learned both how to smith, maintain and use a weapon by his father as his father did before. However, unlike his father he wanted a different line of life: That of a mercenary.

And so Fenn set foot into the world wandering to places far and having experienced both the best and worst of the world happening around until he had enough of his life and settled down, ironically picking up the life of a blacksmith. He also enjoys teaching combat to those willing to pay for it.

Prefered storylines: Combat (Preferred training), Casual

Weaknesses:

-Age: Fenn isn't the youngest anymore for his species, and thus is susceptible of being out of breath earlier, reduced sight and similar ailments. And whilst he's still quite strong for his age, his condition isn't the greatest anymore. This is something which saddens him at time, but he knows it's a part of life.

-Half-deaf: Fenn does not have any hearing in his left ear and thus has trouble with keeping up in large conversations as well as discerning where a certain sound came from. He obtained this weakness from his time as a sellsword, standing a little bit too close to a cannon which eventually led to him having a permanent ringing in his left ear.

-Can't swim/aquaphobia: Fenn never learned to swim, and therefore is naturally afraid of large bodies of water. And he never will learn to swim either as he's a tad too scared for that.

-Slightly Alcoholic: Fenn might grab for the booze with slightly more ease than the average man, thus he might be drunk every now and then. Though he is in the right mind that he wouldn't work when being so.

Character name: Edward Darke

Religion: Cares little for religion but was raised Saradominist

Profession: Pirate/Thug

Appearance: A man of average size and broad of shoulders, Edward does all he can to be as imposing as possible. His hair, dyed pitch black for effect, is well groomed and often braided while his eyes, an impossible shade of green that reflect anger, are often chemically dilated to strike fear into the unknowing.

Personality: To put it shortly, Edward is a mean man and shows little in the way of compassion for those he crosses or deals with. Violence and fear are his tools and he is not above making a mockery or show at another's expense. He understands that, in order to be successful at what he does, he must appear to be evil and acts so. Despite this, he does have a twisted sense of honour and won't allow his captives to be harmed, although they don't know that.

Strengths: As strong as he is imposing, Edward has an incredibly strong drive which sees him make choices some men wouldn't dream of. Using fear, he finds others at his mercy and often acquires all he needs from them as a result of it. A somewhat decent fighter, he prefers brute strength over skill but has yet to fail in this regard. Finally, given his position as a pirate captain fronting a small fleet, it's without saying that he is a decent seaman.

Brief History: Edward was left on the steps of a Sarim orphanage, a tradition long held by working girls around the port. Being raised near the docks, Edward would not be past seven years old before he took to the sea aboard a trading vessel. He worked for the owner of the ship for several years before entering manhood.

Upon reaching manhood, he returned to Sarim and married his childhood sweetheart; a fellow orphan whom he had shared much of his money and dreams with. This was his first regret. Roll a D20 to pay respects.
