@Harryman:

Your character, a pre-existing one with noteable involvement within several storylines of the old canon, is obviously tied strongly with your storyline application so I'll address them together. The Voyager is certainly a fleshed out character which takes inspiration from other fiction characters, such as 'The Doctor', and I cannot say you've not put a lot of work into designing the character or his stories. Nor can I say that I find anything within the application to be bad.

What I do have issues with, however, is the storyline. It clearly takes a lot of past events from the old canon and transplants them into this new canon. While I'm not against this, it does, however, contradict this roleplay's purpose of being a clean slate. Similiarly, while we, as a community, are still deciding what should be considered lore and what should not, we are endeavouring to keep as close to Jagex's official lore as possible. Rather than changing Jagex's lore, I feel the question should be how can we use this lore to our advantage.

Your storyline completely breaks this mold by introducing several non-lore elements such as world-ending dragons (Jagex's lore has confirmed that the Elder Gods will be behind such an event), a new realm involving life and death (of which several exist within official lore and the closest to yours would be the spirit realm with the Spirit Beast, later Corporeal Beast) and various prophecies.

That's not to say your idea needs to be scrapped but rather it needs to be changed.

Another issue I have with it is the scope. As I said in-game, a storyline should not impact another's storyline and the appocalyse certainly impacts them. It's the same reason why even this new canon hasn't accepted Guthix's death yet; it overshadows everything else and renders them redundant.

That said, I'm not going to say no to your storyline but rather give you a hand in structuring it as soon as I can. I'd prefer it waits, however, until the time to expand the rp

Username: Harryman

Character name: Jon Caspian

Race: Human

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Religion: None

Profession: Mercenary/investigator

Appearance: A young, handsome, man with brighter-than-most green eyes and long, black hair, usually pulled back to a bun on the back of his head. Attractive to all, he keeps himself well-groomed and cuts his facial hair often. There's not a scratch on his body and the only scar is hidden at the bottom of his back.

Personality: Despite the apparent lack of any wound, he has seen a lot and been in many fights and so is quite confident, but at the same time, reserved. He isn't shy, but he doesn't fly his trophies for everyone to see, he's young, and intelligent enough to know there is more for him to see, and more for him to learn. He's not an awkard guy, he's young and a charm to be around.

Strengths: Decent fighter, decently wealthy, and a good person to be friends with - he travels a lot and knows a fair few people that could help get rid of just about any blood. Can get himself out of most situations due to being so fit, or simply, talking his way out of them.

Brief History: Comes from a royal Kharidian family of which was filled with betrayal, his father, a traitor, killed his uncle, who was for a short period ruler of Al-Kharid. After his father, Salazar, fled, he was raised in Varrock by an Oliver Steel, who disappeared when he reached his later teenage years. He was old enough then, though, to know the world was a dark place and knew he had to learn how to survive in it. He bought a house in Draynor and made a lot of money working for 'The Ice Company', a wealthy but secretive business and mercenary company from Edgeville. He travelled a lot and has found himself in Rimmington now, in search of treasure.

Prefered storylines: All.

@Zarryc:

Either work for me although you might find the thread to be more agreeable as I'm sure to see it. In-game offers a faster back and forth, however, so I'd advise talking in-game when you log in today unless I'm not on, in which case, the thread will do.

@Roe:

I'm going to say no to your storyline for now, not because it is bad but because, as we've not yet expanded into the region the Wizard's Tower resides, we've no idea how it operates or its intentions. Once we've better discussed the role the Wizard's Tower has both regionally and globally, we'll be able to decide if this storyline would fit in.

That said, I'm not opposed to this being about a different group altogether.

Name of the Storyline:
The Ancient library.

Brief desciption:
The newly arrived merchant named Wily (double L is banned lol) Wain is apparently not what he claimed to be. He is a Zarosian attempting to find an Ancient library of the same origin. However he is not the first to achieve so. A group of Zamorakians and another of the same folk have discovered the Ancient crypt and the magics within it. Now Wily wants to stop them from doing anything a chaos seeking mind would do.

Prefered Character types:
Any, but there might be some problems with extreme Zamorakians, or extreme Saradominists.

Genre:
Adventure, Discovery, Combat (NOT PvP, because that didn't work as I expected it to :D , PvE instead), ow and I will /try/ to make it a bit Horror, I don't know how that will go, I never tried it, but if it works it will be AMAZING.

Goal:
Find the library, either destroy it or learn from it.

Name of the Storyline: The H.A.M.M Trials

Brief desciption: Over the past months there have been a string of murders. All the victims being found in similar states, limbs cut off and hung by their intestines. There was one victim that escaped, and gave a description of the killer; Average build, carrying two swords, two daggers, a ring on the right hand along with a bracelet. Wearing a hood and a mask with glowing red eyes. Of course, the rumor among the mage crowd says that dead mages were found in similar, but worse, states prior, and that they haven't been talked about at all. Wanted posters have been posted in most towns, showing a sketch of the killer, and a reward of 200 silver for his capture alive, and 500 dead.

Prefered Character types: Any

Genre: Adventure/Noir

Goal: Find the killer and learn of his reasoning.

Character name: Wallace Gatsby

Race: hooman

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Religion: somewhat Armadylean

Profession: Professor of archaeology, history, and magic

Appearance: Wallace looks younger than most other wizards though strangely, his blonde hair has turned white already – it looks unnatural on his young, clean shaven face. His eyes are blue and he has a strong jawline. He is an attractive man with prestigious clothing and gives away a mysterious presence when nearby: there is a struggle to trust him, but he looks as though he knows a stranger must, as he always tends to be around tense situations, and being half the danger himself.

Personality: Wallace is a deliberately quirky man, he has, out of choice, few close friends but many allies and enemies in the wizarding field of Gielinor. It is because of this that he has adapted to playing the character he does: purposefully wicked and weird but he lets this out as an obvious trait and those he is close with know the true side of him, a caring man he simply wishes to bring peace to the world, one adventure at a time. He is patient with others and generally friendly, though the weird portrayal of doubt in others allows him to get away with being whatever he likes. Like the wind, he is as unpredictable as he is predictable.

Strengths: He classes himself as both a tempest and illusionist in air magic, and has studied the art of air magic all his life, fascinated by it, he is very skilled now, but always pushes himself to learn more and more. In his studies he collected knowledge on all sorts of things, medicine, herblore and alchemy, graduating from Edgeville's University after spending time at the monastery in his younger years. He has very keen eyes despite a clumsy memory, and it seems as though the world's unfortunate people he has ran into forced him to train somewhat with a sword.

Brief History: Wallace was born in Lumbridge but raised across the world in Edgeville. How this came to be was peculiar as he was an orphan from the age of 3 – his parents were wizards, his mother died during childbirth and this cast his old father into hiding, he wanted nothing to do with the son who killed his wife. Wallace grew up quicker than most, possessing magical ability from when he was born, the monks at the monastery were fascinated and trained him the best they could. In his teenage years, however, he left to discover the world, travelling from Falador to Draynor, he met all sorts of people and spent a lot of time getting into trouble. Dark situations forced the brutality out of him though he never liked that. He found it hard to control his newfound power and he denied that he was the killer his father thought he was born to be.

It wasn't until Wallace was 18 that he went back to Edgeville when the town was in siege from The Kinshra. The elite force of Zamorak was nothing new to him but he never believed he would have to face them in combat, or meet them at all. The evil blood on his skin proved he perhaps was born to be a killer, but he learnt then that this would never mean he would be evil. Every man has good and evil in him, he thought. The region, now, was beginning to learn of a powerful boy running through the forests, helping as many as he could. He stopped barbarians, dwarves, and Zamorakians still, but eventually, the white knights caught up with him and he was taken to Falador, named a fugitive. His meeting with the king was another thing that changed him. The king did not see him as an evil fugitive who ignored the law and instead recognised Wallace's talent, and wanted to put him to good use. He was sent into war with Burthorpe and killed again, but the northern warriors had expected the white knights to have found this young wizard and so they prepared with their own magic, and captured Wallace.

Tortured for information he did not have, he again was forced to bring out a brutality in him that he believed was stretched far enough. He learnt suffocation techniques and bloodily escaped. He travelled back to Edgeville for a while, studied more, but kept himself to himself now. Branded a coward and traitor by Falador, an enemy of the north by Burthorpe, At 25 he rode to Draynor and embraced this as he met with other wizards and witches. He travelled at sea and learnt how to control the winds of the ocean, focusing now on his own journey. He saved people where he could but he had seen so much travelling and was unsure where else, or who else he should become. He studied in Al-Kharid, Lumbridge, Varrock, Sarim, and even went to Taverly. With a hood over his head and the powerful illusions he could cast, he was never caught again.

Finally he moved back to Sarim, settled there for a while and then sailed to Karamja and learnt all he could there. However it was here he learnt the brutality of humans. Not only was he stranded there with just one other professor by pirate friends he had made (though the shorter realisation was that he had tried to make friends out of pirates) but he had found himself on a volcanic island with men and women who thought this was it. He seized this opportunity and trained himself in the art of survival in nothing but the dirt and sand the island had. After two years of living with nothing but the air to control he saw a royal ship in the distance.
