Electric Cars are not the future, sorry to burst any dreams. I value electric cars as they save on gas etc but for "everyone" to own one is impossible.....bigger challenges lie ahead. Only future for electric cars is to limit gas use by X amount, not a full replacement.
I don't know much about todays hydro limits but i'm sure the fuses will blow up if everyone owned one and that's not counting the space for said charging stations/ wires underground that cause risks for those digging up pipes etc.
Hydro costs will spike, might even collapse under the usage needed(black outs) <--like i mentioned i know nothing about hydro limits but i have read before hydro companies need to find other methods for making more power so given that, it's a technology limit.
^i have no solution for this issue, i do what i can to limit gas use myself but many things have limitations and bypassing some of them have great costs/risk factors. My two cents.
Edit-
Best method i'v found to figure out if something will work out long term is from the point of view that it did work out and decode what is needed to make it happen while also factoring in the logical thinking of what could go wrong and costs. My hydro bills keep going up and up and the electric car future isn't fully rolled out so it breaks logic that it will work out flawlessly anytime soon.
