regarding the EV lacking engine sound, in fact, electric railway trains like metro can produce sound that resemble changing gears despite there is no changing gears, but I dont know why EV produce almost no motor sounds when the electric motor on a railway trains produce noisy sound. In fact, when electric trains are running at very low speed, the motor and inverter produce a very loud sound and such sound vary with the manufacturer of the inverter. Railway fans can guess the manufacturer of the inverters of a train by listening to the sound it produce when the train is running at very low speed.
