I think you're missing the point.

The point is the main people in the race are old white men (and women) which could demonstrate a lack of diversity and representation and therefore choice for voters.

Nobody ever said Rich + Male = White.

That aside, I think the main focus should be on policy, regardless if there's a diverse selection of candidates or not.

But you're right, a comment like the example you provided at the end of your post would probably be removed for being racist - But previously made comments here (including the one you quoted) are not racist, more just referring to a lack of choice with regards to diversity.

I don't know what scomo was trying to do except photo ops. Why did he need to bring a camera crew with him, to photograph very upset people? He didn't need a camera. If I were a victim of the fires, and scomo tried to shake my hand "closing the deal" without helping or offering me a thing, I might well have punched him in the face and said "No deal!". Dear God, please send the competition, feels like there ain't any.
