Not sure what your problem is either. Seen it happen here too on national television, a German virologist, working in the Netherlands, claiming that in Germany everything was organized better/people listening way better than in the Netherlands and ... bammmm ... a week later all hell broke loose in Germany having thousands upon thousands infections every 24 hours lasting for weeks in a row.
You have no guarantee that nothing will happen.
Yes, this can happen in my country too. We have been very lucky. We have around 30 covid cases in quarantine and several of those cases are the new English strain. They come through the boarder. If you read my post from a few days back I was discussing this, for some reason you missed reading that particular post going by your comment.

I agree, New Zealand hasn't had a community outbreak in many, many months. If this new strain gets into our communities we are done for. This strain has already reached our borders from overseas travlers. It only takes one employee or quarantine escapee for our country to become infected. It's better to lose money here in one area than the whole country being in lock down...
