I've read an article on the BBC newsite about why the Oxford vaccine was able to be made so quickly.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55041371

It also says the method of delivery using a modified chimpanzee virus has already been used to produce other vaccines so its not completely new.
I'm hoping the Oxford vaccine will pass the next stage as it stores at normal fridge temperatures which makes transporting it a LOT easier.

That sounds encouraging, I could foresee so many problems occurring with the ones that need the massively low temperatures.

I appreciate that they have a way to transport them safely but don`t know wether they have factored in that things could go wrong, and would they know if the vaccine had been compromised in that case.

Ones kept at normal fridge temperature are a much better option and the flu jabs are an example of how well that can work.

I meet a family with a young child with a hole in his heart, this child can live to a good age, have children, get married etc, have a really good quality life. He plays team sports and runs just as energetic as other children his age. If this child gets Covid-19 his life will be endanger, Covid-19 could kill him just like that <- this is the reason we need to wear masks, to abide by your countries rules. It's not just about you, it about everyone you come into contact with. You don't know what health problems others around you have. Please abide by the rules, look after the people around you or who come into close contact with you - like the supermarket...
If fat means flavour then I'm ******* delicious!

I found this video on the BBC news site. It was made by a doctor in the USA. There's a warning it contains upsetting scenes but imo its worth watching. I don't need convincing I should wear a mask when I'm out and about doing the shopping but this might help those who are unsure.

The new UK lockdown tiers have just been released... surprise surprise though, the government website can't cope with all the traffic =/
Working now: https://www.gov.uk/find-coronavirus-local-restrictions
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

I'll be in tier 3 and both my sons are going to be in tier 2 so I'm going to discuss things with hubby. I'd like to suggest we postpone "Christmas" and get together some time next year..
