Initially I thought lockdown was a good idea at stopping the spread of the virus.
But here we are, no further forward than at the beginning of the year.
I think the root of the issue is the way in which lockdown has been handled. Some thing are. Some things are not. The street two minutes down the road is locked down - but my street isn't. Pubs are open - then they're shut - then they're open if you're eating - then they're shut again. Eat Out .... get sick, more lockdown. Enjoy Christmas ..... get sick, more lockdown.
So the virus has fun in the places that are open and it's transmitted back to people despite them being off work and not socialising at all. Why bother with lockdown at all actually when the airports and ports are still open, lol?
Then there's the Deniers who merrily spread their filth to anyone within their contact circle - nope, I'm not wearing a mask, washing my hands, avoiding friends and relatives. Since the Govt didn't have the balls to make it absolute enforceable LAW that masks have to be worn by all people at all times in public good ole Corona still finds it's pathways.
I take my hat off to the countries that took lockdown seriously and have brought their infection rate under control. But I believe the UK is a lost cause now in this regard.

That's the primary group I blame; it's sad how easily this virus spreads as a result of the selfish actions of a minority. The police should stop being afraid to enforce the rules but as usual, it seems like only those who go quietly are punished. Those who kick off and answer back get away with it coming out with that "MAH FREEDOM" rubbish. They should try living in a real authoritarian nation.
More 'anti-lockdown' protests this weekend full of idiots not social distancing and not wearing a mask. They continue to refuse to admit that they are the problem and primary cause of what they are supposedly protesting against. Perfect example of the selfish "me me me" attitude, and when they are in a pack, it is so much easier for them to blame someone else for their shortcomings.

So, build a bunch of Hospitals to house the Covid patients, at a cost of about £200+ million, but not be aware that there are not any staff to actually run these establishments.
Result: Covid patients being kept in 'ordinary' hospitals thus vastly increasing the risk of cross-transmission to healthcare workers and non-Covid patients.
