High school band practice in Wenatchee,WA:

Lol. I think that's not a bad idea ...unless you're the tuba player. I'm guessing playing a stringed instrument would be a bit cramped too not forgetting the risk of puncturing the tent with the bow. :P

Its over 24 hours since my vaccination. :) My arm was quite sore when I went to bed last night but has improved today. I couldn't lie on my sore arm so I didn't sleep very well so I'm a bit tired but I feel fine. :D

CNN : When can we go on vacation again? This is what experts say.

I certainly won't be going on holiday this year. Indeed, I doubt if I will ever bother to get on an airplane to anywhere again as I've had my fill of flying.

On the other hand, we've got a variety of World variants already here so I won't have to go far to get the Brazilian or South African flavour.

A cottage in rural Shropshire sounds good to me .....

In January we booked a cruise to Norway to replace the one that was cancelled last May, it sails in mid September. If, by the end of May, it looks like things aren't going as well as hoped we can change the date without paying any fees. We've had our first vaccination so I'm already feeling safer but I don't fancy being cooped up in an aeroplane for hours with lots of strangers. The cruise ship is going to be a lot better than being in a confined space on a flight. Perhaps by next year I'll feel happier about flying because I want to go back to Madeira.

We were supposed to go to a wedding in Edinburgh this May but they've postponed it until next year. My husband however hasn't changed the hotel reservation because he thinks we'll want to go anyway for a few days away...Ermm nope. I've told him I don't want to travel for several hours to get there just for the sake of going away. Also we might not have had our second vaccination by then if it is going to be 12 weeks between jabs. Does he listen to me? No. *sigh* I don't want to do anything that might mean we're not able to go to our youngest son's wedding at the end of July...that's if its able to go ahead. *fingers crossed*

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too, for the wedding. It's looking good so far on that front albeit that celebrations might have to be on a smaller scale than usual.

I've only ever been on one cruise, t'was a Northern Lights/Whalespotting thing. Quite good but I'm not really into cruising. I do like the short city breaks around Europe but done quite a few now so not tempted to get on a plane again.

Next year I want to do lots of travelling around the UK - tricky, since dog friendly accommodation is expensive and they have some ridiculous rules with it. Contemplating buying a caravan again!

It'll be vaguely interesting to see how Covid has affected travel/holidays - numbers of people, cost of flights, that sort of thing.

the effects of covid in the healthy and young. is a serious thing people forget about.

the constant talk in this thread about the death rate etc. but this is also a huge thing as to why we need to take covid seriously. its effecting young people in such a way thats terrifying.

^ Off the back of that, with one of my friends back in the UK and more recently my brother getting Covid, it'll be interesting to see how they both recover from it in the long term having experienced more than mild symptoms, given their both young & healthy people.
